You sir are the REAL MVP... these 2 codes have been plaguing me for months, and like you initial thought, I was preparing to replace multiple vacuum lines Thank you for posting this video!! Turned out that my fuse was blown as well
@@huehuetrain The fuse actually blew again after about 3 or 4 weeks. I made an attempt to remove the pump but piping from the small radiator on that side prevented me from doing so. I'll be swapping my engine soon so I plan to diagnose it once all the hardware is out of the way.
@@huehuetrain It's worth replacing the fuse first and going from there. Again it took 3 to 4 weeks for mine to blow Again which now points toward the pump itself
@@manystylze7927so if the pump is blowing that is an indication of a clog weather it be in the combi valves which both have to open or this happens as iv read. Or the exhaust manifold ports where the secondary air feeds into the exhaust to warm the cats up gets clogged with carbon.
I will check this tonight thank you I'm about to check combi valves and smoke test my car. Hope this is my issue. Was frosty around here this time of year. Hoping I just shorted a fuse I'm getting same codes and don't think I have a vac leak
There's a reason that the fuse blows. Often times it because of the defective wiring which goes to the pump. The red and brown plastic covering on the wires disintegrates and shorts the wires, causing the fuse to blow. This is a very common known issue. You should remove some of the wire wrap and check the wires. It will probably be cracked from the fuse box to the pump (red), and from the pump to the ground on the firewall (brown).
Many years and miles later and the fuse is still going strong. I think it was because water/then turned to ice and got built up in the pump and blew the fuse that I replaced. No issues since then.
@@beaulamper3558 It's quite possible in your case, but the wiring issue is something which I believe affects every single B6 S4. I wish I could post photos on here. There are a couple of write-ups on Audi forums about it.
@@beaulamper3558I hope this is my issue car started and ran fine then while driving this showed up for me. It's been 1 degrees out where I live tho. Water re freezes pretty fast. Hopefully that is my issue. Will be checking fuse tonight.
The vacuum line to my Audi A6 Quattro 4.2 l that goes to my EGR valve snapped do you have any recommendation for a quick fix would have to wait multiple weeks for line to ship from Germany
I get those errors, I clear them and they take a few days before they return again. Would that make it unlikely that it is a fuse if it is not an immediate error?
It sounds like the car's computer just takes a couple of days to run through the emissions control cycle and when it does, bing- finds the error and throws the CEL. I'd say the fuse could be the problem, but more of the problem is why it's popping the fuse in the first place if so. Have you tried manually turning on your pump like in the video? Hope that helps.
Did you verify the pump works? You can put 12v directly to it to see if it turns on. If it works I'd say start tracing wires from the pump to the fuse box.
