Right? Sadly, it's because in germany the government isn't dumb enough to give a 16 year old a license to control an object that can be used as a lethal weapon if they can show a minimum wage DoT employee that they can park a car and make 3 right turns like in US. In Germany, people must go months to driving school and learn how to use the road efficiently and safely, as well as share it with EVERYONE. Unfortunately, I think the US gov is too set in their way and is not willing to improve/overhaul an outdated system

When you want to start from 0 km/h you should do it on the entrance or not at all. People are used to speeding cars on the left lane but that also means that faster cars expect you to get out of the way. Not one person will think of a car standing on the left lane let alone without any warning signs.

Sure thing, Camaro has like 453 HP and the Audi "just" 354 HP. And here is the best example that a huge 6.2L Engine can pull a lot of harder at higher speeds. A pumped up V6 or Inline 6 has no chance. Of course a Turbo V8 has. Thats why i never would buy a turbo 2.0 Liter car... for me the 100-200 speeds are just more important.

Dude that was so perfect. It felt like 20 minutes. I love the scenery, power of the Quattro, interior, sound, music. I had to look up 266 kmh so I know how fast u were actually going. 165. Daaaaaamn. I'm looking to get a slightly used Audi and think its worth the extra money to get an S4 over an A4 sedan. I can't believe a stock S4 SUV is this fast and the transmission is insane. It acts like a manual. Sorry if I sound so American. I have German genes tho!!!!!

For people who never driven on the autobahn, it is not a straight peddle to floor for mile and miles, there are section of the autobahn where there are speed limits; hence the slow down (as well as other cars). Also reason why US does not have an autobahn like highway is that US people do not follow road rules like Europe (you stay in the right lane unless moving exceptionally fast or are passing - then you move back in the right lane)

Nevada is the place to drive fast. I got pulled over for cruising 130mph in Nevada and the cop wrote me a waste of energy ticket for burning to much fuel at those speeds. It did not go on my record and was for 15 dollars.

I am German I owned a Camaro V8 (45th Anniverssary) stick shift with 432hp... to be honest...for a S4 I would have not even started playing... they simple are no match, the V8 powered RS4 and C63AMG were the guys you were looking for to play with on the Autobahn, with them it was pretty closely matched fun... not so mutch the RS4 with the heavy AWD with only 4.2 ...but the Merc with 6.2l V8 and RWD too

Quite dangerous driving must say, if you want camaro to lead - let it go. U almost emergency brakes on the left line instead of going behind the Camaro and let him overtake the car on the right line. U should know it better than the other - stay on the right line:) Best of luck from Munich!

Kudos to both. I have a 2017 Camaro SS that I brought to 171 MPH (275 KPH) once (don't think I had anything left) but it's very rare to get the opportunity to do that here in the US. Either someone is blocking the left lane or the crappy roads and highways are just too rough (usually both). Also, I'm getting too old I guess because that is a bit too dangerous even in light traffic and best kept for the track. The Audi in the video looked very impressive for only 354 HP; I wasn't sure if the Camaro was supercharged or not nor did I see ZL1 or SS on the left side of the rear bumper. The rear lights appear it's a 2018 or older model. Does anyone know what model the Camaro was?

It's a standard ss... I have 2015 SS, manual transmission, RS package and upgraded stock exhaust. It's made.for the highway 🛣 ,especially 4th gear ⚙️, you get nice pickup even at 100mph, it reaches 120 fast. Handles amazing for a inexpensive sports car. I am sad there not making them after this year. I am buying a gen 6 someday. And keeping my gen 5 .

@@Mrcl5902 people hate me for it but thats exactly why i bought a 2l turbo camaro just so can have fun here and there and still drive it daily and get good fuel economy especially with german fuel prices. People keep telling me that the v8 can be driven under 10l/100km but they lie to themselfs really. Sure i can get 8l/100km at 120 with speedometer on and whatnot but the 2l would have 6l/100km at that speed. Daily driving the 2l camaro i get 9l/100km average and having just over 300hp and 460~ish nm is good enough for me.

I live in Germany and do that myself (although my car is electronically limited to 250km/h like most cars are). You should always be driving in the right hand lane unless you are overtaking, regardless of what speed you are doing.

@Valentin - I have a tuned Mondeo ST which would probably be capable of about 280km/h without the software limiting. It depends on the autobahn you are driving on. I know of a couple of stretches of autobahn where - depending on the time of day - you can drive quite a while without having to move to the fast lane to overtake all the time. There's a great stretch of 3 lane autobahn on the A9 between Nuremberg and Munich. Audi and BMW tend to test their cars on it because of the proximity of their factories, and if you stay in the fast lane you will almost certainly get flashed by cars driving at 300km/h and more.

The only thing better than this would be meeting the Volvo v60 and a Dodge SRT Magnum and I think Cadillac made a station wagon with northstar v8 for a couple of years too anyway wish car companies would keep them around. Even if limited numbers. I would have the v60 or SRT in a minute. And your Audi is pretty sweet too!

Had it been a ZL1, you wouldn't have even seen a dust trail in the distance. I've seen Porsches unnerved and scared at 260 km/h with a ZL1 egging them on; the Porsche couldn't go any faster while the ZL1 had another 42 km/h to spare. After about three rounds of that the Porsche driver went down to 120 km/h, decided to stop raging on the road and start behaving decently, as he should have to begin with. The camaro is a bit faster because of its 100 hp more. I love V8s and US cars but it comes down to HP and traction. With equal HP I would say Porsche is no1.

Jaime Moreno Nice. But you can get from 325 to 700 hp in a 911. If you beat at 911 with a stock manual camaro, I guess you have more hp than him. From zero a 911 is hard to beat, even with more hp, due to its traction.

Disappointing performance from the Camaro considering it has a V8 engine. An R8 would easily wipe the floor against that Camaro for example. Common sense that the S4 just couldn’t keep up but it wasn’t too far behind either. Took the Camaro long enough to walk the tiny S4 down.

Not at all - the Camaro runs low 12s in the 1/4 mile and the B9 S4 is lucky to get into the 12s. In a 1/4 mile contest (0-115 mph roughly) the Camaro wins by 7-9 car lengths. From a roll, the higher the speeds the smaller the advantage will appear. Here, in the first run, after a few missteps, they start at about 90 mph, and the extent to which the Camaro walks away is significant - the Camaro is the far quicker car here, despite not making the S4 look like it's standing still. That would require a car significantly quicker than the Camaro - ZL1, C8, GT500, 911, etc. Later in the video the Camaro backs down in anticipation of getting left.

Interesting... the Porsche turbo uses a Flat 6, New Ford GT V6, Supra, Nissan Skyline, GTR all use 6's.... and they smoke V8's all day. For me its how the car is built not all are equal or the same.

Was that the Camaro SS? If u re wondering why he can't pull away fast, check drag coefficients S4 : 0.23, Camaro SS 0.35 (less is better). What good is hp, when you have more drag. 2x Speed = 4x more hp required due to drag.

Cool video. RS7 Performance would dust Camaro ZL1 . Apples and oranges I still would rather own an Audi s4 than a Chevy Camaro. With a tune on the S4 (333hp to 400+) it would be very close.
