Sam, I love so many things about your channel. But the one thing that keeps me coming back for more is just how you consistently go straight to the point. Unlike many drag race and care review channels that talk their viewers to death, you give the numbers and then go straight to the race. Your channel by far is the best drag race channel ever. Keep up the good work!
Ok the truth is that I think that the KIA might look good but I’ve heard nothing but bad about KIA and Hyundai motors , the Stinger is a very attractive car and has a certain thing about it that I like , now the Dodge sounds cool but I’m not a dodge fan and I like Audi a bunch but I’ve heard that reliability isn’t there ? I don’t know that for sure but I’ve heard things . Now Honda is quality , type R or the si doesn’t matter , Toyota again is quality but not up there with Honda but it’s high , VW wants to be good and it try’s but it is pron to break downs and needs special tools and that’s just not right to do to your customers.
@vroomgc yeah, we know that, that's the reason I made the comment. They're luxury sport sedans with decent sound insulation. Yet, the Dodge is so loud that it breaks through the sound insulation quite easily and even drowned out the Audi and Kia V6s.
"Legends" Dude, their engines are notorious for having low performance numbers when compared to AMGs, GTRs, and other perfomance-spec models from various brands. (Speaking of Dodge)
Exactly Now we are all getting shoved awd electric cars..I will avoid for as long as possible Plug in hybrid is a hood idea to thw idoits in California
@@benjacobson7490 how can 2 wheels of traction launch as good as 4 wheels of traction? I understand the geometry, but I would think the more rubber to the road, the better. Hence tubbing.
Yes we need this… on the roll the camaro and the mustang would be really close but the maro would pull at the top end barely cuz it’s also a bit lighter. That being said mustang 2nd place, 392 3rd but not by far👍🏽 IF ALL OF THEM ARE AUTO TRANS
@@nuclearcherry4900 I only say that because I’ve beaten SSs on roll races before in a 392 but the 5.0 is neck and neck for a bit then pulls top end 130+
“What happened?” -Sam “Uhh idk what happened” -Audi *Audi literally turns off the electronic E brake as he launches in the first race* Lmfao you can even see the car jerk forward as the brake disengages
Looked like he accidentally tapped his shifter paddle which locked him in 1st lol, bounced it off the limiter realised it then jammed his shifter back to get it back to auto lmao.
Thanks for never creating click bait, being succinct, and honest in your content. I may stupid, but the more I watch these drag races, the more I think Sam shares a track with throttle house
Audi S4 B9 fast a hell. Nobody talks about these. stock 1/4 12.8 tuned stage 1 11.85. also best interior German made. It's by far the best allaround car here.
You guys don't have RS4's in the states, same engine as the RS5...that's on another level and would take that American muscle crap that sounds really good
One of the best videos I've seen in comparison. That Dodge Charger is heavy and has trouble from a Dig but is a beast once the wheels are rolling at a 40 and 50 roll.
More like a bear, slow to start and heavy, but once moving its strong. Not fast though, unless you think slightly beating a 350hp car classifies it as that :)
@@name4754 put a tune on the stinger and watch it shit on the hemi lol but stock for stock the 392 wins cause some stingers are RWD. Completely different cars tho, ones built for ride quality and the other is American muscle
Amazing, 3 of my fav cars going at it. Owned a S4, now owning a Stinger, it's nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite. Such good cars. Thank you for this!
@@FastRedPonyCar Audi felt a bit more robust but overall they're both very good. It's pretty close IMO. I drive my kids in the Stinger every day, nothing has fallen apart yet. 😅 but some people have reported a few problems with the newer models, so it's a mixed bag. On the other end of "quality", S4 had carbon, Stinger has alcantara, different luxury styles. The dashboard's better on the Audi, but I prefer the seats in the Stinger. They're different, yet very close. Know what I mean?
@@minaguirguis8897 same power, more features, better service, better warranty, and cost about 30K Canadian $ less. 4 years later, the KIA is aging better than my Audi did.
Great race. 👍 Thanks Sam for always bringing exciting content in your races. Been watching ever since way back and it just keeps getting better and always fun to watch. 🍻
Great video... really fun to watch. One thing that perplexed me, though was the Charger. I expected it to lose the from dead stop as it's obviously traction limited, but what I didn't expect was how it bogged and then sounded like it short-shifted 1st into 2nd. Seems the launch control software could also use some attention.
That was so awesome!! Love the bud! I had an R/T and now I have a Stinger GT2! I desperately miss the sound of my Hemi, but I’m absolutely loving everything about my Stinger! Def just as fast as my R/T! 👍🏻
Had a feeling the AWD ones get better launch from a dig than the rwd charger but that thing is so loud 👍, if I were to choose a car out of these 3 I would choose the Kia stinger, it looks awesome an plenty quick enough stunning car 👌🏴
After the death of the beautiful NAT-ASP 6.3L engine in the C63 AMG , the next best now remains alive is this 6.4L Hemi V8 mated to that excellent 8 speed.
Awesome. What mods did any of the cars have Sam ? Stinger looks like possible after market air intakes, and any others on on any of them ? The SRT, 392, if able to launch better (which it can with practice and setting the rpm thing, etc) can take these two cars from a dig too. But not easy to do. Like your other video when we raced my stinger with a scat charger and challenger.. one driver couldn't launch great, but another driver launched it and took off and the challenger driver, Ron, launched his with minimal spin too ! That's the bonus with awd, it's driver proof and awesome !
I'll say it, the guy in the Stinger has way more mass than the Audi on those runs. It makes a difference, it really does. I mean, we're talking close to 200lbs difference. That matters.
@@CharlieBrown-mx4gq and all designed by similar CAD programs. That was a pretty naïve comment. The main designer of the Stinger worked for Audi for 20yrs.
Own a stinger myself, good all rounder. But no denying the S4 is a monster and its always a pleasure to see one, I really like the lines of the body work on them
I'd honestly rather just get the Stinger out of the 3. Best bang for your buck and it was right up there with the rest of them. Plenty enough performance for daily driving, but has hella great features for the price.
@@TheSterwin it's pretty much the same car , they share a lot of parts. I prefer the stinger it looks more sporty while the genesis looks more mature and kinda boring in my opinion.
@@enriquepalomino8554 dude…u serious🤣🤣🤣…new genesis g70 is dope when compared with stinger…even if the engines are same…g70 is much more lighter, hence faster and sexier…stinger holds more weight than it wants…so i would just call it a Kia..😌 also the build quality and service is much better when it comes to genesis.
I'll personally take the Stinger GT. There's just something satisfying about a car Korean car besting and giving German and American Muscle a run for their money, and like they mentioned at the end of the video. A simple JB4 or minor mods and the Stinger GT completely changes.
@@nicholaspoole8688 lmfao what? How is it not? A stock car with more horsepower and torque, of course it's fair to tune it. Would you say it's not fair when a built Civic B series beats a Lamborghini or McClaren? Try to use your head
@@jaym.9275 use your head car ain’t stock if you need to tune it and add bolt ons if you need to mod to make it fast obviously you bought the wrong car. My logic is people call scats slow but it’s the same ones who need jba and minor mods to be beat it. Let’s say a cammed scat goes against the same stinger it’s not a fair comparison then.
@@nicholaspoole8688 So people shouldn't mod cars? We should only by cars and leave them stock and only enjoy their stock performance? What kind of ignorant logic is that? Have you ever of "Built not Bought"? It's about the joy of taking a car and making it faster than what it should be. I think you're either 10 years old or were dropped on your head as a child. Your argument makes no sense.
@@jaym.9275 obviously you can’t read. So I’ll try one more time. It’s ok to mod a car but if your going to mod a car don’t go bragging beating stock cars. “OH MY CAR NEEDS A TUNE AND IT WILL BEAT YOUR STOCK CAR”
Interesting. So really, what this demonstrated is the true benefit of having a light car that has performance. They are exceptionally quick off the line and make it nearly impossible to catch up. However, from a role a heavy car with a lot of horsepower will actually come out on top.
I'm always so shocked with how terrible people are at launching the 392s. I just traded in my widebody scat challenger on a ZL1 order, but I could consistently launch it close to perfect every time. Basically would out perform the factory rated numbers with every try (0-60 & 1/4). Maybe the 305s in the rear make a significant difference, I dunno. It's hard to watch though. Kinda glad I moved on so I'm not as invested on how people perform with them now 😅
@@just_a5.7 my best on the stock pirellis was 4.0 and 12.3 in the 1/4. Then I put on continental extremecontact sports when I needed new tires and my best was 3.8 and a 12.1 1/4 mile. Could pretty much replicate those numbers or very close to it on every try on the street. I feel like people try to launch too hard or something and then just spin like crazy 😆
@@lauzagna tires play a huge roll back when I was stock I was able to run 11.7 in my stock 2019 mustang gt on some micky Thompson ET street tires on the stock tires I couldn’t hit faster then 12.4
Considering the Stinger costs significantly less than the S4. Its the best value for money per Hp and benefit is, its rarer than the Audi + you don't give up much luxury on the interior. The audi you pay premium for the notoriety
The Charger may have come in last on the dig passes but it sounds so much better then the Audi and Kia. Also you guys need to stop looking around when you are racing. That is very dangerous. Looking back at the other cars is not going to change the outcome. You will never see professional drag racers looking back or around. I think I criticized Uzi once for looking around and now he's on his game. Good for you UZI. SAFETY FIRST ALWAYS when racing.!
Stinger has rwd too, probably not sold in Canada though. Also the older GTS and indigo blue models have drift mode, which is full rwd. My 2020 Stinger gt is about 20/80 in sport mode. 80% going to the rear
Love an S5 sportback and it was pretty much the only car other than the stinger I was looking at buying because it checked all the boxes.. But the fact that loaded to the same spec as the stinger it was 85K I just couldn't justify the extra 33K.
Awesome races. Not surprised by the results. Charger was winning on a roll, that's a forgone conclusion. Not surprised the S4 beat the Stinger, considering the 200lbs weight difference and better factory launch control. Stingers factory launch control sucks. I think this is a good race for practical 4 door cars in the same price range. However I'd love to see an Audi S5 sportback versus the Stinger!
If only the stinger could build boost on LC i think it would be a different story. As a stinger owner i was happy with how well it kept up with the S4 and as soon as i seen the weight difference ik at the top end the S4 would start pulling just a little bit harder lol
@@ytsux9259 doesn’t matter, the S4 is lighter and not far off from making the same power. It’s a given. The Stinger does well with how much heavier it is
So, few things here. First of all, lets recognize Stinger is a great car for what you pay and also the Brand has done a good job like Hyundai by bringing these cars to the game. Now, Audi, is on another level of everything. With only 1 turbo (vs. 2 Stinger) made it better than the others. Twin turbo is on a RS model and that's another level. Quattro system is very hard to beat (specially the ultra or newer) but even haldex works great. Sam, Amazing video again. Suggestion for Next video: Audi S3 (new Model) Vs Elantra N. (both Stock)
The new S3 will have the same power plant as the Mk8 Golf R, which has already been proven in multiple independent tests to be a more powerful car than the EN. Not a race worth running..,again
@@nelsonvanvickle8862 let's not forget that the new Golf R is actually slightly quicker and faster than the New S3 so yes this would be a race worth running considering the Elantra N gave the new Golf R a run for its money (during the roll races ofcourse where it matters the most)
I mean with its weight and how much power is sent to the rear wheels only, what do you expect? It’s not designed to launch like the other two unless your on a prepped surface. But notice how the big V8 always comes back in the end. Yes, better drivers can launch cars better, but there’s a science behind this
Great race , Audis launch control is another level, being a stinger owner the factory launch is terrible, that's why I got a tcu tune to build better boost at higher rpm on the launch. The charger is definitely no joke on a roll, that's where that torque shines. Would like to see the stinger with a jb4 against some v8s on a roll like the 392, 5.0 stangs and ss camaro
Our stinger from a roll walks away from scat packs and Cameros. I haven’t had the chance for a clean race with a 10 speed mustang yet, but I think it’d be close!
@@lilman227 simple, we either compare stock or we don't. Cus vice versa when those cars are full bolt on and run 85, I've encountered some nasty Camaros here in Cali freeways on the regular running drag paks
@@ricardo7352 I'm not sure I agree. Comparing similar power figures, or comparing similar price is completely fine. And more interesting for most people. You can decide what to get for the money. Or what performed better when they're at similar power. Fbo CPI lap3 tuned stingers will eat a e85 tuned 5.0 or camaro btw. Plenty of videos on RU-vid of people running them.
@@Pratagraph lol hope the stingers dont blow up like all the 2.0 turbo gen coupes and optimas.love to see a hyundai tuned far enough to beat a mustang or camaro with over 200k on it
Price is an interesting factor here (CAD because I'm Canadian). The Audi comes in at a base 64K The SRT is around 53K and the stinger is 36K.. All base prices but it should be noted that the Fully loaded Stinger is 51K.. The price to value here is mental for the stinger. I didn't think about it until seeing it against the S4 and knowing how much the one I test-drove was.
The Stinger's launch control is abysmal. It barely touches boost before launch. There are several tricks to make it launch harder, but that's the car's Achilles heel. Great for longevity and reliability to cover that 100k mile warranty, but leaves A TON of 60/150ft time on the table.
@@nonamenoname4641 My point is that it is a solid performer for how new of a model it is, many people aren't even aware the Stinger exists. The S4 and Charger have been out for years with numerous generous with plenty of variations, they are not new to the game and are very well renowned.
