My good friend Greg bought a beautiful Audi S5 Coupe, so I thought that we ought to make a video. Enjoy! In association with: igneousassetfinance.com/our-p...
@@MOTAHOLIC Hello Nick. I loved your video. I have an offer for 2017 S5 TFSI sportback with 98,000 miles on it for about 33K€. Would you say this is still a good purchase with this mileage ?
Oh GregH, thank you. This was so wonderful to see the video. I am not sure exactly what to comment on because everything was so great. Two supposedly adult men in a very grown-up man-car carrying on like they are 17 and they are taking Daddy's car out joy-riding! 🤣 The ending caused me to both 😢 and 😆 at the same time, especially the ending with the reference to the massage! More please!
When "boys" get together the topic of conversation inevitably descends to the lowest common denominator, I can't recall how many fairly serious business meetings have collapsed into hysterics due to one innocent comment! As for the car itself I have to admit a total lack of knowledge, I inherited my fathers car about 15 years ago and I'm still quite happy with it (Bentley Mulsanne turbo). Of course it doesn't have bluetooth anything and changing stations on the radio requires one to turn a knob and listen for results. I've said it before Nick, you could make a tour of a cardboard box interesting so Thank you once again.
Lovely S5 what a car. On the flip side I have gone from a 2015 S5 to a 2019 RS5 in the exact same colour as Greg’s, same Navarra blue with the same brushed chrome accents etc but with creme interior. All I can say is the power & performance from the S5 to the RS5 has been disappointing for me. Don’t get me wrong there is a noticeable difference but not blow your socks off difference, the RS5 does not scare me like I hoped it would. Yes the RS5 does sound a lot beefier than the S5 but performance wise, my conclusion is that the S5 is great value for money compared with the RS. I felt like I paid a £17k premium for the RS badge but not necessarily a £17k performance upgrade. It has a been a little bit of a let down for me but Im still giving it time. Happy to have a comparison video with mine and Greg’s car as the specs are identical which will make interesting viewing 👍
I think it will grow on you over time… also it will be worth money in the long run…but I do understand we’re you’re coming from never the less awesome ride
Hey Nick like you said its been a while since we had a car here and you picked a beauty to share I love the colour too and wish Greg many miles of driving pleasure in it, have a great Saturday bud
I have the same colour S5 but a convertible with red leather. It's a lot of car for the money and like Greg I've put a lot of miles on it in the 4 years I've had it. My longest regular journey is from Bristol to Noss on Dart so you might see it Nick one day ! The guy who delivered it to me compared it to a Bentley as he had to drop one of them off the week before.
My S5 hatchback was delivered yesterday. This video formed a real part of helping me decide on which car to go for. So thanks! 😊You guys have to do more of these vids together whether you own the wagons or not
Auto Drive Mode keeps you in Comfort until you punch it, at which point it automatically switches to Dynamic. When you return to more relaxed driving the car returns to comfort mode. I'm one of roughly 14,000 people in the US who bought an A3 e-tron. Loved it until Audi refused to help with the 3G turndown and literally left us in the cold. 2017 A3 e-tron Prestige w/ Sport.
Loved my S5 in black cabriolet variant - pretty sure it was 355HP but damn quick either way, i struggled to get more than 20mpg around town (maybe the extra weight being a cabriolet?) - very nice car I miss mine. Thanks for the video Nick
Enjoy your car for a long time! It’s a great daily car with that an extra bit of power. For anyone who has a car like this, I’ve just seen a video recorded in the factory where these engines are manufactured. Cylinders are manufactured to a frustum shape due to variance of heat expansion between top and bottom of the engine, so please make sure your engine is warm enough before you start using higher rev . Dynamic mode is a no go zone unless you want lose your licence and money in no time :D
Had a low mileage S5 mapped it to 425bhp oil change every 5k never missed a beat and a rocket ship , kept it 18 months then sold it for £3k more than I paid , so all in all a very pleasant experience
I bought my S5 coupe 5 months ago after seeing this awesome video. I enjoy it a lot and love everything about it 😁 I test drove a RS5 before buying mine, and the total difference between those two in my opinion wasn’t worth the extra 20k.
What a great video.A very nice car,and always good to see Greg again. The 'boot' is massive, and so is the power band from the engine.I do wonder if it'll fit in a couple of the tender garages..?You can take it with you if you're not leaving, right?
Great video and funny out take. I have this very car, 2018 in this colour. I love it. Its super fast when you want and a relaxing GT when you dont. I cant think of another car I would rather have.
Love the out take lads. Keep enjoying life. One critique if I may, you’ll find the rs5 is just as capable of a comfortable back road country drive while also being something you may occasionally take to a track if you have one available? Of course maintenance isn’t very cost friendly either
@@MOTAHOLIC oh yeah no doubt. I’ve got the 2018 s5 you guys reviewed here. And a 2015 4.2 v8 rs5, I def use them for different occasions but boy are they a joy to drive.
Here in the Philippines I've never seen the S5, only the RS5, something I rather like, there's a lovely green one but its double the price due to the import tax. Same with most european cars. This was a lovely car and a great change to the Mobile homes which were starting to all look the same. In fact I was thinking it was a mibile home vlog not general motor vlog. Greg was in stitches re the massage, very funny.
I’ve been trying to sell my wife on an S5 for a couple months. I explained yesterday the different modes on the massage seats. Rabbit mode seemed to grab her attention. We’re picking up a 4 door sportback in Navarre Blue on Friday.
Diesel power in cars are not so popular in North America especially Canada. With the exception of Audi, Volkswagen, Benz, etc one is hard pressed to find except in trucks, motor homes. The price of Diesel Fuel here is 40 to 60 cents more than regular grade gasoline which currently runs at $1.45 per litre. Also more pickup, less maintenance, & considerably less price option, along with cleaner burning. The Volkswagen/Audi diesel scandal also soured people’s opinions on this side of the pond. Good review Nick, nice car.👍🇨🇦👌
Having owned 2 Audi, I have nightmares when I think of them. Both were constantly breaking down. The huge issue was that so many engine parts, important ones, were made of plastic. I switched to Mercedes and have had no problems whatsoever. My current E400 just turned over 40k and is in perfect operating condition.
Doesn’t it have proper launch control only s3 and rs3 when you turn traction off for boost ? My s3 sounds mad and let go it’s like a plane taken off Ps5’s on it
I have a s3 mapped 380bhp so if am in eco mode close to 30 but ragging it 10mpg and isn’t this v6 ?? Much older flint for this next die the message seat only out of is the 2 doors so maybe s4
The most Beautiful and racey 'normal' Car Audi have ever made, easily. The newer 2019 one looks ugly with the grille now tilted up a bit,, looks like a weird mask , lost its charm and poise. Lucky you! Congrats,, enjoy it! 🎉
omfg he does 35000 miles a year!! lol btw so Audi don't make S models anymore because of electric cars right, so I was thinking I shoudl get a petrol before its too late being in my early 40s it's a good idea to try one before 2030/2035 and just use it and hell with the costs as I'm not as rich as this guy thats for sure, nowhere near, sod it man!
I would love that car, with the same engine, and then I have to pickup the cabriolet, but that is what I want. I would prefer BMW cabrio, but they are to ugly, then the only choise is this one and in same colour. It's Nacht Blue pearl, and it's cost wopping € 3200 extra. The German price is then € 94.500 with all extras.
Manufacturers are still flip-flopping between the Petrol/Hybrid/Diesel argument ... While the Public know that our Gov will not achieve the Boris 2030 Hybrid charging capacity ... Why are you still buying German cars, after Brexit Greg and Nick??
I think the Diesel has already lost that race . People are waking up to the fact that the EV is not that Green if you look at the lifespan of the vehicle and electric network of the country can't cope if all the vehicles were charged every day . Plus it's the company car tax that has made them so popular and that is being taken away. So the answer is still to be decided.
@@colinpettit3448 I think it depends very much on your definition of 'best'. If your only criteria is reliability then you're probably right. But then so would a Honda be. My criteria is somewhat broader.
