@@AutoTopnl I have the same car just without the S The steering is akward, sometimes when i don‘t hold the steering it just turns to the right or to the left although the street is straight and clean.
I am also thinking of buying an prefacelift SQ7. I am looking for a comfortable, quick car. Would you rather recommend a SQ7 or Q8 for this purpose? Sometimes my mind thinks also of an RS4/5 But this might be not a good idea for my familily?!
Is it also a SQ8 that you think of, or just a regular Q8? Obviously the Q8 is a new model so it has all the advanced features and the new interior. Both are good cars, the Q8 is better looking though in my opinion
@@ag488 Depends what you prioritize then. If you want the V8 diesel, get the SQ7. If you want the new interior and a more comfortable ride and in my opinion a better looking car, get the Q8. Either way both are nice cars and I wish you a lot of fun with either of them when you do decide to buy one
Why did you go for SUV and not for sedan?Just wondering, because I feel like sedans are more elegant and therefore more pretty, but that is a personal opinion. What is you reasoning?
Love your car... the only things I really miss are the ceramic brakes and the all wheel steering, we got that in our SQ7 and that makes the driving experience much more cooler
All wheel steering is a must in my opinion, we have ceramic brakes on our sq7 too and they are not really good, they don’t have initial bite (they must be heated up) and they are sometimes squeaking, and when is raining on highway, they just not brake for a first second...
@@honza2755 same having a SQ7 mate, I don’t have the ceramic brakes just the normal steel brakes, but it does make squeaking sound at the final bite of braking(it will be gone after heated up tho). Not sure this is a common issue for this model or it’s just my car...
When you talked about the Cars being stolen I felt bad. Imagine you used your Life Saving and years of hard work to get your dream car and someone Steals it :(
@@Enko063 faster on paper. They (AutoTopNL) even did a comparison and bmw was quicker🙂 But the other arguments sound reasonable and I agree. In my opinion SQ7 is also better looking.
I’ve got a SQ7 Vorsprung. It’s fantastic, however. I agree with your comments re the steering; it’s unnecessarily heavy and makes it less agile. Weirdly the steering isn’t bad on a very long highway run.
This review really helped my family a lot in choosing a new car. We live in a country where your car will definitely be scratched or stolen, even if it's six or seven years old. We used to have a Cayenne with keyless engine start and it was stolen after about three months of use. We had never thought of using battery protection on the key like you showed at the beginning of the video. Thank you very much!
Heey Max, amazing review! I have been following you for quite some time, and I have a question; I am currently driving a BMW440i myself, and my wife drives an Audi A3 2.0 quattro ABT. We are expecting a baby, so I am looking to replace the A3 for something with more space. I mostly wanna use the new car for daily commute (50km), driving to family (250km), vacation (wintersport, 1000km), and towing a horse trailer (10x a year, using my 440i for that now), prob we ll drive 15k-20k a year. I am considering 3 cars, in the same €70-€90k budget; 1) SQ7 (2017), S6 Avant (V8 version, 2018), RS6 (2016). I have watched a ton of your video’s and I think the SQ7 or the S6 are the best options for my use. What would you recommend me?
Am I wrong or they stopped the production of the 4.0 v8 tdi because for a really little moment there it was the sq8 with the v8 diesel and 435 hp and I love it but now is not available anymore apparently ; (
@@lukatavcar8305 yes I know but having a v8 diesel in a 2021 car was something special and you don’t get the same torque or strong power of a v8 diesel in a v8 standard I mean it was something that only Audi could think that they could remake...a big v8 diesel...anyway have a nice day
@@o_o-_-8639 Europe is quite anti-diesel at the moment with all the emission regulations and stuff. Would probably be too expensive for Audi to continue with a V8 diesel
@@dnzry2218 yeah ik now it's just the end of the era for big diesel in Europe...well I at least wish that they are gonna use the W8 from the old Passat and maybe put it in the arteon or it would be interesting an rs3 with a W6 engine since it's going to use the space of a 2.0 l but it's a 3.0...anyway have a nice day ; )
Great review and great car Max. Audi is my favourite premium brand and I like Q7 since its beginning in mid 2000s. I only think that Q8 is more beautiful and obviously newer with better interior design and looks a bit sportier than Q7 that is simply too big. But love them both and I agree with you for the engine choice, it's a beast. On to the next video, keep going Max😀👍
I own a sq7 TDI wonder what the performance difference is in real life comparing to the new TFSI version. If you get a chance to review and compare please do. I personally think the fuel consumption on the new tfsi doesn’t justify the performance gain.
Absolutely brilliant car, too bad they don’t produce the Diesel V8 anymore. New regulations sucks... Insane dream Car, great choice, have a lot of fun! :)
For the money you could buy a normal Q7 fully functional. I can afford RS or S but i always go for the normal A version. Those codes are going to cost you alot.
Im just wondering if it actually could do the 100-200 faster. Thats because in S mode it revs to 5000 rpm, doesnt go under 4000 rpm that much at all when flooring it. I do think that even a v8 diesel has much torque to offer at that rpm range. Would be interesting to see the result in D mode or just manul shifting around 4000-4500 rpm.
Audi and their steering issues.... I have the same problem in my A4 from 2014. In standstill, the steering is super light and easy to use and when I get moving, the steering wheel comes back to the middle position nice and comorftable. But when I drive the car more aggressive I basically have to hold on the steering wheel for life, otherwise it could throw me into a tree because it becomes snappy, uncontrollable and the change between light and heavy steering occurs like 5 times in one curve. Its annoying And also on straight roads with light imperfections, the steering sometimes decides to yeet to the right for no reason. Not slowly, its like the passanger just grabs the steering wheel for a second and pulls it to the right
Q7/SQ7 really are impressive cars on a fast motorway canter. Had my new 50tdi mapped by MRC Tuning to 380bhp and 890nm. Weighs about 100kgs less than the SQ7 so very similar performance. Fantastic family suv. Having had RS6 V10 before it really does make me question if id ever go back to an avant. The higher driving position compromises handling although not by much and theres the benefit of better forward visibility in all conditions.
What do you need carbon ceramic brakes for? Have you ever driven a car with ceramic brakes? In winter, when it's cold, the brakes squeal. On the highway if you drive and you don't brake often, your brakes are cold suddenly you have to brake hard and you have cold brakes that can be dangerous!. And yes, I had carbon ceramic brakes myself and never again.
I do not trust carly for coding. Too many reports for screwed up cars (BMW). As I drive a BMW, I use a laptop, proper cable and ISTA. With that, I get EVERY information for EVERY BMW, BMW M cars, Mini and Rolls-Royce (if I ever would drive it, haha, but it is supported).
This is outrageous, why are we constantly getting the trash versions of the cars in the states??? Audi just does not send any good diesels to America. All the sport diesels stay in Germany. 😭 SQ5, SQ7, RS6, RS7 etc. Not to mention all the other cars and manufacturers that don’t show up here. Honestly makes me wanna cry.
Why these luxury cars do not have proper fog lights in terms of size, illumination etc etc whereas affordable cars have decent fog light wether be it projector or reflector! I am using osram hid 55w,4300k in both fog lamps and headlight in hyundai i20 and literally just rule the roads without blinding the oncoming traffic
Really? Such an outdated car! All SUVs with cumbustion engines worthy sport cars are -in my opinion- the silliest thing on earth 🤮 We're moving into fuel shaming here.
Strange leather on the steering wheel, never seen anything like that, i have the same one with the flat bottom.. Think its exclusive or it was already re wrapped by someone.
put the steering on comfort then you are already in dynamic mode which makes the steering heavy , although your car is a family and such a big heavy car you shouldn't have a very smooth steering at such a higher speed it is not safe for these big cars .
My sister need to move around forreal bro cause all this wasn't caused for, I know how to come talk to you about problems but we ain got problems she need to leave real shit
@@AutoTopnl that's actually really good considering the performance and the dimensions. Do you have any plans tuning it? Maybe a wide body by ABT or something
