Thanks for this,my TT has only done 17,000m in 4yrs but this oil change come up not on Mileage but timed!A complete rip off,as I only use my TT sporadically during the year.👍
It’s not a rip off. If you only use the car occasionally that can do more harm than doing 10K a year. The oil will absorb water through condensation forming on short trips and just sitting in the sump days/weeks on end won’t help either. You should always change the oil every time it asks for it either on mileage or time.
You should do this when you change the oil, either before or after physically doing the work. It’s not advised to do if you’re not changing the oil as this resets the service interval in the car’s computer.
@@redram52 Well my problem is, when i check the oil level, it's at the required level but the oil change due notification still comes on at the start up?
@@berkaytopal3536 if it’s been about a year or a set number of miles/Kms since it’s last change it’s probably due for another oil change, regular service.
Try it a couple of times it may not reset first go. If it still won’t reset it may need a diagnostic tool to do it. There were a few models which needed that.
These cars have an oil quality monitoring system, if the control module thinks the car needs an oil change it will keep coming up. It will also keep coming up if you dont use the exact brand of oil they recommend.
