This video was very fun to make! (I love this song!) I hope you enjoy, and comment and tell me what you thought. Fanmade, no copyright intended. I own nothing.
The name "AUDIE MURPHY" has so many different meanings to so many different people.. COURAGE, HERO, STAR, IDOL.. but to Me, He is the foundation of being a true citizen of the United States.. and the blueprint and design of a true American.. Semper Fidelis, Semper Fortis
Audie Leon Murphy for me is the greatest western actor ever, such a natural on horse back... So much talent and the most humble man from humble beginnings who took the world be storm... As we remember Audie we keep him alive forever in our hearts, missed, adored, loved always... Most highly decorated soldier of WWll at the tender age of eighteen, being Honourable Discharged at nineteen years old... REST IN ETERNAL PEACE AUDOE LEON MURPHY... MISSED, REMEMBERED AND LOVED STILL TODAY, REST IN SLUMBER.
Audie Murphy was a unique guy. He did a lot of amazing things and some wonderful movies, which I enjoy a lot. I wish he had lived longer, but God only knows why it had to happen the way it did. I am just glad so much of his life was filmed and written about. No one is perfect, but he tried to be for a long time.
Yes he was. So true. I love his movies! Whenever I mention him to people they’re like “who’s that?” I’m like y’all are missing out! Me too, Yeah so sad. Me too! He did so much in his life. Yes so true. Thanks for the comment!
Another wonderful tribute, Emily. To me he was not a “star”-he was a role model for heroes-and an advocate foe war veterans-including those with the “unseen” wounds-there was no treatment for them back then. God bless veterans. 🙏🌹
@@emilysullivan2336 I am right there with you, I can watch Audie get on and off a horse all day long. I finally figured out how to respond to these posts. I'm not very computer literate, however, I would just like to thank you for all these wonderful music tributes to a remarkable man. Loved him in my youth long before I even knew just how special he was. He deserved so much more than he received for the sacrifice he made for his country. This world will never see another Audie Murphy!
This one is truly awesome Emily, it makes me want to cry. Thanks for making so many beautiful videos of this great man. I have watched it a thousand times (lol). Just LOVE him!
Thank you so much for that! It’s means a lot to me. You’re welcome! It is my pleasure! If you have any other songs you think would fit for him I would be more than happy to try and do them. Yes me too! There isn’t anyone like him!
As a Pilino I couldn't heard his name ever just now...as I read the comments below this man as considered as a great and very talented artist 👏 well ..may you rest in peace 🙏
I will if I can think of one to fit him but you are doing just great. I meant to comment on Go Rest High, that one really got to me....just keep doing what you're doing girlfriend! Just finished watching six black horses. If I start on Audie you would probably have a page full (lol). He has a whole lot of followers and people are still commenting on him and he definitely rates high with me, he was the real deal. Thanks for keeping even more memories for us!
Ok sounds good. Thanks!! Yeah that one is one of my favorites that I’ve made of him. That’s a good one! Haha same here! Lol When I was growing up basically all we watched was westerns but I never heard of Audie Murphy until about 5 months ago... I don’t know why. But now I’ve seen about all his movies and I love them! Yes he was! It is a honor!
You have got to be kidding...all we watched growing up were westerns too but I have been following Audie for at least 15 years. I used to see his movies but really didn't pay attention to how short he was then I started focusing in on him from reading comments about him being short. I researched his military records and his early life and was amazed and hooked every since. His movies are nice soft westerns and he is really pure in his acting. All of his movies are good, some better than others but all good.
No I’m not. Well I remember watching Guns of Fort Petticoat and liking him in it but I never knew who he was then I saw a pic of him with his height, weight etc and what he did in the war and looked him up and found out that was him! Yeah it’s incredible what he did and soo sad! I absolutely love his voice! Yeah that’s true.
I was born in the 40's so I saw a lot of Audie's westerns when they came out. He was one of my favorites. it was later when I learned To Hell and Back was real. My dad also started out in Tunisia (North Africa) and went through Sicily, Italy and was at Omaha Beach on D-Day. Did he meet Audie? No. But, he heard about him. I did get to meet one of Audie's horses in 1965.
@@jozatexan1964 Wow, that's amazing! Which horse did you meet, was it Flying John? That's the one he rode up until about 1959 I think....he sure was pretty. I'm watching Night Passage right now.
carolyn quattlebaum, not familiar with Flying John. Audie rode Joe Queen in Whispering Smith. He also owned Apache Agent and MacKay Boy. My dad had a lease on a MacKay Boy daughter in 1966, Anna MacKay. It was in 1965 when I met / petted a really nice sorrel mare in the stall next to our mare at a breeder's place. Later was told she was Audie's mare. Never could find out her name.
Hi Emily, I must admit right off the bat, that I don't know much about Susan Cabot. I wasn't even aware that she played in 2-3 movies with Audie. What I can recall seeing her in was a film where she played an expert archeress. It was a Tony Curtis-Piper Laurie film titled Son of Ali Baba. In case you haven't seen it, she was well showcased in the Archival Footage of the Black Shield of Falworth Fashions where she is shown in two different changes with the Falworth insignia. In addition to Susan Cabot, the other starlets featured were Myrna Hansen, Lisa Gaye [my top fave], Sara Shane and the star, Janet Leigh. I also have some stills of her when she was featured with Lisa Gaye [among others] in the Universal International In-house Talent Contest. I also have a nice shot of her with Lisa getting their time of riding lessons on the Universal International lot in 1953-54.
