There’s so much theatrical charm to Kaye’s delivery. You can tell he’s having a blast hamming it up.

BW Megatron was a conniving faux-aristocrat, manipulating his allies AND enemies to get what he wanted. Kingdom Megatron has the same energy as a schoolyard bully bossing his flunkeys around. There is no comparison.

The new one sounds like a bad fan dub. And he’s such a submissive loser. Which is such a shame since the two characters are so distinct and would honestly play off of each other really well.

BW Megatron was truly submissive in this series to the point where Im honestly glad we didn't get the og voice actor for him. It would just feel so off putting, even tho he was inspired by Megatron. Probably should change his name to Tarn. I think it fits perfectly.

You don't need to have David Kaye. You don't even need to do an impression of him. But if you are going to try, at least hire someone to come remotely close!

Megatron is literally just Scorponok how could they mess up this badly?

they brought back beast megatron's original voice actor for the japanese dub and its a PERFECT fit, he evens says henshin at one point which was pretty nice

To be fair the voice acting in general has been pretty crap for the trilogy so far so I don’t really know what people were expecting

I always commend BW for how clean the cg looked and flowed for it's time.

Aside from the low resolution textures its kind of shocking how well Beast Wars holds up.

Hearing Bobesich’s Megatron in this makes me think of Dark of the Moon Megs uttering; “Spare me you gaseous sycophant!”

Kingdom's Megatron's voice reminded me of Craig Sheffer from the movie, Berserker: Hell's Warrior. But even Craig Sheffer voicing Megatron with that same exact voice of his character in that movie, would be leagues better than the current voice.

They may be the same design, but they are very different characters. Having David Kayes voice coming out of the "fan boy" that was Kingdom Predacon Megatron would not have fit. Also, while I do prefer the original, Kingdoms version was not bad and fit the story.

I ember grew up with Beast Wars, but I grew up with Kaye as Megatron. He was so good. I’m mad him and Chalk didn’t return for RotB.

I just started watching Kingdom because I had to catch up on Siege and Earthrise first and when I didn’t hear david kaye I thought him saying no like he said yes

David Kaye's Megatron sounded the most intelligent of all Megatron incarnations. Welker's was a very close second, especially the TFP iteration; in terms of intelligence that is. His Megatron was the most formidable. Weaving's was the most dangerous, he could rip you apart in seconds. Burton's was the most sinister, his voice was haunting to hear. This one is just... No.

Beast wars I remember it that was half my life. Of course going with the voice actor of the first one.

Kingdom Megs was such a pain in the ears, he sounded like a guy trying to do a really really bad impression of Saw Gerrera from Star Wars (maybe it's just me, but still horrible). I get that they were matching the voice to his character in the show, which was pretty much a sniveling fanboy, But I believe if they had a voice similar to Kaye, it would have given him more dimensions and double down on the idea they were trying to pull off him (which is of course, him being just a poser).

All I got is: David Kaye: superior Marqus Bobesich: inferior Such a world of difference between the two.

There is no comparing the talents of David Kaye to a terrible impression of John Travolta's performance from "Battlefield Earth."

Honestly Marcus Bobesich is a good voice actor and had to work with what he was given. He isn’t to blame for wfc Bw megatron being lackluster when compared to the original it’s the writers for messing up almost everything that was great about beast wars megatron. To be honest I’m glad that David Kaye didn’t voice beast wars Megatron in kingdom because it still would have felt off

In fairness, the original BW Megatron personality and voice would have been out of place with the Kingdom script. It just wasn't the same character with the same motivation; remember, original BW Megatron's top goal was to rule his Cybertron whereas Kingdom BW Megatron was focused on bringing the Golden Disk to Megatron to prevent the rise of Galvatron/Nemesis Prime. Plus, having 2 alpha Megatrons in a 5-episode series would have wasted too much time with the inevitable betrayal that would have been required. Been there, done that over the years in Transformers. The overall Kingdom plot exceeded my expectations but the WFC voice acting/direction had moments of amateurishness and Kingdom BW Megatron was a huge example of that. A better voice actor could have sounded loyal yet still project an element of maturity. Kaye wouldn't have been the right fit (you can just sense the ambition in his iconic portrayal) but making Kingdom BW Megatron sound younger/immature to sell his different personality was a hack job IMO.

I have never really watched Beast Wars before, I’ve just seen clips. But these two BW Megatrons are completely different characters, the original is only looking out for himself and is a complete badass whereas the new BW Megatron is only wanting to meet Megatron and save him from his fate (I will not spoil anything for anyone so I’ll leave my comparison here….yeeeeeees).

Maybe its because I had gotten used to the way David talks, but I didn't much care for Marqus' version. It always felt off to me.

I dont even think its the voice that gets me, its the fact that "new" BW Megs acts like a groveling fanboy and not the conniving clever Megatron Kay portrayed him as.

That "what have you done" at the end basically sums up everyone's reaction to this.

No way David Kate's Megatron would be so submissive. I was expecting a successful double cross from Kingdom but they must have changed the script when they heard the weak voice acting.

You know what? I'm actually kind of glad David Kaye didn't return to voice in War for Cybertron. I can't even imagine how much more painful it would be to hear him being Megatron's goon...

OG Beast Megatron: spoke in a polite, civilized tone of voice and was possessed of a bitingly sardonic wit while being manipulative, strategic and relentless Kingdom Beast Megatron: Spoke like a Old Man that got kicked in the balls really hard while trying to impress Megatron-Kun

You know what this new Megatron is? Beast Wars Scorponok, he sounds like him, acts like him, and simps for Megs like the OG BW Scorponok.

Just amazing that the OG show had so little to work with technologically, yet the creators produced immensely expressive characters; aided by wonderful performances. Today... there's simply no excuse...

One of my favourite lines by Beast Wars Megatron was one from "The Low Road". It lampshaded his "yesssss" vocal tic. *Blackarachnia:* Why do you always talk to yourself? *Megatron:* Ah, I simply have a penchant for... _intelligent conversation._ 😏

My expectations were pretty low to begin with and given the plot, it would have been a waste of David Kaye anyway. But the weirdest thing about Kingdom Megatron is that he sounds more like BW Scorponok than anything.

Honestly, except for a few bright spot here and there, like the final battle in Siege, this entire War for Cybertron trilogy feels like bad fanfic from people who don’t really “get” Transformers. Awful voice acting from people trying too hard to copy the old voices, especially whoever plays Optimus; the tone is way too dark and dour; there’s so little transforming in this TRANSFORMERS trilogy; most of the characters’ personalities are all wrong; the speeches. Oh god, the constant speeches; and it’s just a slog to sit through. It’s almost 8 hours and you feel almost every. Single. Minute. of those 8 hours.

The moment I heard the new voice, I just thought: "Oh no. Oh no no no. This won't do." He sounds like an obsessed fanboy than a cunning, ruthless, tactical mastermind.

"A wise tyrant, always let's the fool take the lead in a crisis."

Scorponok finally bought that Megatron cosplay he always wanted. Good for him!
