You know what’s kinda funny to me? The fact that David Kaye voiced 5 different versions of Megatron and 3 versions of Galvatron, only to meet the original actor of Megatron while playing an Insecticon. I mean, how downgraded is that? 😂
Frank Welker is always going to be my favorite Megatron voice, but I’m gonna be pretty honest: David Kaye’s Megatron voice isn’t half bad either, even if it is pretty different.
In honest, both Megatrons are different and separate characteres. So Frank Welker is the best Megatron and David Kaye is and will be the best Megatron II :D
I love how he isn’t trying to sound like Peter Cullen when he voiced Optimus Prime in Transformers Animated. People should understand that the second best replacement for Peter Cullen is someone who isn’t trying to sound like him. There will never be another Peter Cullen. Peter Cullen’s Optimus Prime voice is the best voice impression of Peter Cullen’s rendition of Prime. Garry Chalk and David Kaye are the ones people want to see take up the mantle of the voice of Optimus Prime when Peter Cullen, unfortunately, inevitably retires.
My favorite role he's played is the Supreme Intelligence from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. He has an extremely threatening robotic voice he uses and there's so little human in his tone which is part of what makes it so terrifying. As for a bonus future idea, I think he would be a good fit for voicing Dr. Strange some day.
Frank Welker will always be the first one, but I think they should let both Cullen and Welker rest a bit and let space for other iterations of the characters. They should bring David back a little bit more often as Megatron. He totally owned it.
It’s surprising me that David Kaye voiced 2 Capcom characters, Akuma on Street Fighter Animated Series and Jedah Dohma from Darkstalkers on Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite😀
That Recoome clip is actually from Dragon Ball Z Kai, where he was voiced by Christopher Sabat, not David Kaye. Kaye only voiced him in the 52 episode "Ocean Productions" dub
Oh boy, I haven't heard his Ancient voice in 15 years. That brings back memories. The Ancient and all of his Transformers roles are still my favorites of his.
Max Medaglia No need to thank, friend. David Kaye is one of the best Megatron's voice. Frank Welker, Hugo Weaving..... is sound good and suit with Megatron's figure they cast but i prefer David Kaye and Daniel Riordan is my most favorite.
I know David Kaye from Inuyasha. Was a bit sad he didn’t come back for the last season. He definitely gave me chills whenever Sesshomaru starts talking.
4:18 that's Richard Epicar, not David Kaye. He plays Batou in the Ocean dub of GiTS. I can very easily tell because Epicar dubs Guld Goa Bowman on Macross Plus, and he does the exact same voice for that character as Batou, and has since the original GiTS movie.
I have a theory why everyone seems to love Sesshomaru voice best. In all the other characters David Kaye has voiced, no one has cared about the voice actor as much as they have for Sesshomaru. This is because one of the reasons we love Sesshomaru is that gorgeous voice of his. Hence people want look his other voice rolls to hear more of it. That's why they're all here! That's why I'm here!
david kaye was hardshell? holy shit no wonder why his voice was fimiliar its even cooler when hes talking to the og megatron! corey burton is also an amazing megatron holy hell
Fun fact: David Kaye is the first and only voice actor to play both Optimus Prime and Megatron, as he was Megatron in beast wars and Optimus in Animated
The Beast Wars Megatron is not a normal Megatron because his the Successor of the Original Megatron, David Kaye played a normal Megatron in The Unicron Trilogy and the PS2 Video Game Based in Transformers: Armada.
Great work as always, but as has already probably been pointed out, that's unmistakably Chris Sabat as Recoome in that clip. Pretty sure that's Kai, actually. But I'll take your word for it that David Kaye did the Ocean version, it seems like a good fit.
Mysterio, Apocalypse, Hardshell all sound like variations of his BW/BM Megatron voice and if you've had a chance to hear him as Duckworth in the New Ducktales it sounds like a direct copy of Megatron
