Amazing piece! I was doubting if MSS was really worth it, but this video has shown me the truth and i think it's really worth it, what are your thoughts in MSS though?
Hey, thank you! MSS I really like, it has a nice tone to it. Some of the stand out features are the polyphonic legato sustains, the recorded ostinato patches which are like a playable patch from like a minor 2nd up to a 5th either up or down. The Aleatoric stuff they recorded is also pretty cool and weird. The major thing I don't like about it is it doesn't have a single articulation patch, its all in built into one UI. If you select a patch and then purge it to save ram, and then change a patch it reloads the entire thing into ram again, so you will struggle abit if you dont have 32gb or more of ram (maybe ok on 16gb?). I believe the idea is to really use Articulation Maps that they have made for the library in your DAW if it supports a feature like that, because there are a lot of articulations lol. Or you can use the Intuition Series version which i never use lol. It's best used with a CC controller and 3 really one for dynamics, vibrato, and volume. Also you can go into the backend in kontakt as they haven't locked users out of that. I got it on the intro price, if money is tight then wait for the sales but atm it's my main string library that I use :) Hope that helps!
@@GregIllidge thanks for the tips, Reaper is my DAW and as far as i know, they don't have Articulation Maps for it, i'll have to do my research, and also, i don't know why but every time i check the Audiobro website, all their libraries are always on sale, not sure if they will stop their sales at some point (i hope they don't 😔), but i got one last question, i've heard the cellos are a little lackluster, and that the solution was to add the close mic to the mix mic, do you find the cellos lackluster or you are comfortable with the mix mic alone?
@@5emiliobocanegra644 Ah yeah I'm not sure if anyone has made a map for the library in reArticulate. It does have the keyswitches in the lower registers if you like that. Yeah I think the Cello's benefit from the close mic dialed in a bit, maybe the viola's aswell. By default the library has a EQ insert in kontakt called Silky which is actually quite nice but ofcourse you can tweak and add extra inserts and sends. The UI mixer section is pretty easy to use
