Echo is one of my favorite audiobooks! The integration of music into the narrative is wonderful and adds so much to the story. Medicine Walk sounds great. I struggle a bit with poetry but never thought of listening to it on audio - what a good idea! I agree - memoir read by the author is usually excellent. I haven't read either of the memoirs you recommended. My #1 audio book last year was The Sun Does Shine (memoir) - so powerful.
Wow! Great suggestions Melissa. I’ve listened to 3 of these and heartily second your recommendations: Echo; Islands of Decolonial Love; and Know My Name. I’ve read two of the others in print (Danez Smith & Vivek Shraya) and will keep in mind the audio editions for rereading.
Aware of most of these except the Wagamese...all sound good! First narrators that spring to mind as favorites include Adjoa Andoh and Juliet Stevenson, but also just listened to Adenrele Ojo smash it with a contempo romance!!
@@FullyBookedMelissa I think the ones I've listened to read by Tennent are middle grade books like Cressida Cowell's The Wizard of Once series. But it might be interesting to see if he has done others.
