I use tip 3 everytime I can it just help my poor reader & attention deficit brain more attentive to the book. Tip from Abish Matthew BotCast episode :- Most audiobooks are slow in speach speed so you can speed it up. It forces you to concentrate more on the content & also you are reading at significantly faster speeds. PS - recommendations for audiobooks For beginners - Harry potter series both narrators are good and one of them is STEPHEN FRY. For intermediate - Six of crows duology as book contains many characters so depending upon the perspective of the chapter the narrator changes and they also do others character voice differently as that character perceives them. So cool.
What got me into audiobooks was Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology in the writer’s voice and it was a masterpiece. For today’s day an age who know Marvel movies and Thor as a superhero,this is a perfect audiobook with Loki’s sense of humour throughout the book. As for non fiction Bossypants by Tina Fey in her voice. You just want to know more and more of her life and journey.
Very funny!!! Also I would recommend listening to autobiography narrated by authors themselves for beginners. Becoming by Michelle Obama and Born a Crime by Trevor Noah are more enjoyable while listening.
I concur with this. Also liked Maria Sharapova's autobiography where you actually know where to concentrate more based on the narrator's voice and tone
