it was a honor to take 3 of your classes at knowledge fest Dallas . The way your explain things makes it understanding very easy. I really appreciate all the time you take to share your knowledge and answering a ton of questions all around Facebook. Thank you Mr. Andy

This is fantastic, he explains it so simply that even the RU-vid translator translates it naturally, thank you very much Mr. Andy.

Thank you Andy for posting this video. It's super helpful to see a demonstration of how to use Audiofrog's testgear kit. Your manner of explaining complex concepts and tools makes this stuff so much more inviting to try and play with. I've subscribed. and I'm looking forward to see more cool videos from Audiofrog.

One thing I love about Andy's vast knowledge with the tuning guide, it literally works for everything, doesn't matter what brand you use, it just works and never try to question the notes, because you will get greeted with theoretical facts about why and how it works.

Haven't even got a minute in but I'm already excited. Got a Umi about 8months ago to tune with rew/minidsp 12.... About to go for a mid bass relocation and a fresh tune. Really excited to get some pointers! Hundreds of pages of forums and user instructions don't cut it sometimes. Need to hear it sometimes! Haha! Thanks Andy you're a funny guy, love it!

Thanks for the value info Mr. Andy, I have tried it and I am little confused with a process as calibrating for left the mic position in left head rest and when calibrate right side should I keep the mic in same left head rest or move to the right side to get the correct response.. appreciate your quick response.

Is there a target curve designed for when you're in the car? For example, for when you cannot adjust the equaliser remotely? In particular for a two seat sportscar (i.e. where you can't even sit in the back).

Bought the kit couple of years back didn't rip the cd to USB , now cars don't have CD player or a cd slot on the laptop I currently use because no longer have a working copy of the CD. What's a workaround for this ? Google drive of the rip possible to share with verified kit serial number ?

Hi Andy, You selected the DIP frequency as Offset. In the guide its mentioned that frequency has to be an average between the peak and the dip. Also lets say we EQ the right side first and offset according to the DIP at 56Ddb. On the left side (driver side) the dip is more around 45db. Now since we have to match the drover side with passenger side what should we do? add the dip to passenger side if its not fixable or more than 9db?

I had wondered that too. I think the manual says pick a centre point. If I remember correctly.

I been struggling with audio frogs four channel amp.. we all can agree on the gbs value for the money and the gb60 is undisputed! I hear build house crud and same amp as a 200 dollar amp..what im struggling with is I just cant believe that the audiofrog amp doesnt fallow the same philosophy as the gb series an undisputed value for the money..I dont know maybe ill just trust my gut and buy a pair of the 4 channel amps without hearing one

I thought mono pink noise was for single speakers and stereo was for pairs
@saty580
@saty580 2 года назад
You have a stereo source device - the head unit. A stereo signal has different sounds on the two channels allowing the appearance of sound coming from the left or right or both. A mono signal is the same on both channels so should appear to be centered on a two channel system. If it is not centered then you can adjust your system to correct the error.

Your analogy of measurements being taken with/without a body in the listening position VS not having to sit in a chair while they make it is confusing me. My car already has a chair (driver's seat) and I'm not measuring the chair to make improvements to it. I'm making an audio system around that chair and measuring the sound to make improvements to it. My body reflects the sound before it reaches my ears just like everything else in a car, so a body should be in the seat when taking measurements. If I took a chair to a carpenter to have the legs shortened so my feet can comfortably rest flat on the ground when using my favorite seat cushion, they're going to have me sit in the chair on top of the cushion and they'll take a measurement.

@bbfoto7248 2 года назад
@TonyTube407 Forget Andy's analogy for a moment. The bottom line is that the Target Curves were not created with a body sitting in the listening position. And therefore, IF you want your in-car response to Match that Target Curve as closely as possible, there should not be a body in the vehicle when taking your measurements and adjusting the DSP to match said Target Curve. If you choose to be in the car when taking your measurements, the resulting measured response and your corrections WILL NOT match the target curve as intended. You can verify this by doing two sets of measurements...One set while no one is sitting in the vehicle, and one set while sitting in the listening position. Then compare the differences in response. Again, the Target Curve that you are trying to match was not created with a body inside the vehicle. Why??? Because we are all different shapes and sizes and we all sit in the vehicle using vastly different seating positions.

@@bbfoto7248 I'm the only one who drives my vehicle. I still stand by what I said.
@bbfoto7248

@@TonyTube407 You are free to think whatever you want, but the actual developers of these Target Curves have stated that they are created without a body in the vehicle and should be measured as such IF you want to accurately match your acoustic response to them. Obviously, there are many other variables that can affect the accuracy of your measurements...as well as your experience and how you interpret them. There is an AES whitepaper on this subject if you care to read it. In the end, Target Curves are just a "rough guide" to quickly get you to a known and very good "ballpark" result in terms of spectral balance. As Andy said, most people will want to further refine the spectral balance (tonality) after the Target Curve has been matched. Different mixing engineers work with different speakers as their "reference" when producing the various music that we listen to, and they also work in various rooms with a differing acoustical response. The studio monitors and rooms are not all identical, so different music will all have its own unique spectral balance with the mix engineer's preferred "seasoning to taste" applied as well. So there's not one Target Curve that works 100% across all music.

Don't waste your time with this method. I tried tuning my system multiple times using it, and the center stage was consistently off to the right. This is because the stationary mic is more sensitive to the left side, causing you to essentially tune everything down on the left. For accurate results, it's crucial to at least sit in the car, move the microphone from ear to ear while measuring 100 averages. Or if you can afford use microphone array. Otherwise, the results will be not satisfying. Additionally, there's no need to play pink noise constantly during the tuning process. You can take the measurements and perform EQ adjustments comfortably while sitting at home.
