+Jamie Lee Remember that Jesus went through the same temptations, resisted them and eventually all the suffering that was on the cross was for your sins, my sins, all of ours...past, present and future. We must not willingly sin or we must reconsider if we are really committed to Jesus and allowing God to work through us rather than us trying to be in charge. +Jamie Lee I pray you continue to read the Word in the bible for more discernment to combat against temptations. I also want to thank you too as I am struggling with temptation too but know that you are not alone in your battles. If Jesus is your Lord, He will be in your corner. I want to point you some scripture James 1:12-18.
Hi Jamie, Temptations you seemingly helplessly fall into happen to a lot of people... Our Lord understands. He gets it and He gets you. But the thing He wants is to be IN your heart. And that's not something He can give to Himself. We bury our souls in addictive sins not to feel good or rebel against God directly, we do it to bury the pain in our souls. We get hurt and Jesus wants to heal where you've been hurt: He feels and felt all the pain, and still feels all the pain you wouldn't let yourself feel. We often sin to bury that pain because we've closed our hearts and don't know how to deal with it. Jesus wants you to invite Him into your memories of pain and hurt, and He wants to show you what He remembers in your hurt, which is how HE was loving you, which is who you are, because only He (the Truth) can set you free. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart and mind in prayer to painful memories, lies about yourself, etc. connected to your sins and to show you what HE remembers. peace to you
foxes in the vineyard destroy the harvest. Agriculture and especially the cultivation of grapes used to be very important in the old days, because there wasn't such a thing as mass production. If the harvest is destroyed, the cultivators would suffer huge losses. So that would be a reason to lose your joy...
