I agree! My favorite actress of all time so humble yet so talented & beautiful both inside & outside strikingly beautiful. No one, not even his grandchildren are as good looking.
I could listen to Audrey speaking for hours, for an introverted person she really knew how to get attention to herself, very smart, very classy. Just an absolutely perfect role model, for people of all ages, gender, religion... it doesn't matter, everybody can learn something from her.
So true, and I hadn't thought about that! I just purchased a blazer dress almost identical to the one she's wearing for return to office. She was just elegance personified.
Oh you are so right, the interviewer was so lost and the way he asked the questions... gosh, she makes up for all his faults so gracefully. It was a pleasure to hear all she had to say and the way she shares her experiences and always keeping her good humor.
@@catnoir-a-saurus He can be all the legend you want in the US, but Audrey Hepburn was a legend in the US plus many other parts of the world, and this guy didn't even get ready for the interview knowing AT LEAST where she is from. So for starters, he totally slipped there. Even "legends" can screw up.
Unlike so many celebrities and actresses of her time, Audrey always wore minimal jewelry and makeup, as in this video. She never wore an engagement ring, just a simple wedding band and 2 pinkie rings her sons gave her. She realised less is more. Yet she is far classier and more elegant than any other actress--ever.
Her husband was the luckiest guy on the planet. And I'm absolutely certain he knew it. Truly one of a kind. That playful quality that only comes from a genuine appreciation for life and the desire to share it with everyone. Can you imagine the joy she brought to the people she touched? It's palpable in her films. It must have bordered on the divine in real life.
Apparently he didn't, some people say Mel was very strict, even though he really cared about her. And Andrea was simply an asshole, he cheated on her with over 200 women, actual number, without any care for media taking pics of them, he jeopardized Audrey's legacy and name. At least in her final years, she found someone that deeply deeply loved her, people say Robert treated Audrey as a princess.
He is a terrible interviewer and obviously did not do his research. She was the epitome of grace ,beauty, class, elegance and patience throughout. A true Angel
I agree, he is a terrible interviewer! He should have done his homework before interviewing such an elegant and classy star! He got the facts wrong, and jumped from one topic to another.
Well. He's Danny K's little daughters husband. Can't stand her. Oh she makes her money by being a fraud at St. Judes. Oh yes Marlo Thomas. ...what a fraud.
@@roshanunwalla108 How adorable that you think the host does the research. Audrey was very elusive for decades. I imagine Phil's show had limited access to only a few interesting facts.
I absolutely agree. The fact that Donahue was the mainstay speaks poorly of our audiences and their collective taste. He was terrible in this interview absolutely terrible. Kramer would have done a better job
In dutch we have a saying : "she was aristocratic in her humility" which is a compliment of course. Audrey, rest in peace our lovely darling dutch girl. ❤️🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
I absolutely love the way she talks and carries herself. I wish women of today would follow her lead. She's so pure and full of grace. RIP Audrey. Forever still making a great impact.
@@bigred8432 😂😂 right.. women today aren’t elegant or graceful. I myself don’t consider myself any of those things as much as I want to. I’m not saying women are trash and disgusting. Society today has warped so many things. I simply was saying that I wish women would look up to Audrey and follow her lead instead of beauty influencers or the Kardashians. Women and men have a lot to learn from Audrey from the way she carries herself, the way she has dealt with her past traumas and the way she appreciated food and the smallest and simple things and her freedom.
Can’t believe they left the most important subject to her (saving children lives) for the very last 30 sec, and then cut her off…shame on them, it shows that even back then hearts were getting cold and focused on money😐 While the most precious we have in this world are children❤️
My favorite thing about this video is the reaction of the audience. They just know they are in the presence of someone who has pure class and a great sense of humor.
That's an understatement, they more than doubled their donations received after she joined, she really changed the game for UNICEF and millions of children around the world, as if she needed to be more perfect than she was already.
Beautiful lady, in mind body and soul. I think she could teach young people today an awful lot about gratitude, class and humility. And a lot more besides.
This lady IS the epitome of elegance, and humanity, in one magical person. Her talents, are brilliant, and many, but her best asset was her love of everyone and everything life had to offer.....Combined with such Grace. RIP you Icon!! xx Love from New Zealand. 11.2020.
The woman, actress, and celebrity I most admire. Class, style, with a heart of gold for children and the less fortunate and needy. A saint, truly, in her own way. Moreso when she got out of Tinsel Land.
A woman with class and style and humility and kindness and exudes so much love that anyone can fall under her spell and we all did, we love her we always will
Can someone remove EVERY current public speaker, government official (except J. Ardern) and just play this instead. The epitome of strength, style, integrity, intelligence.
I remember seeing her movies in 3rd grade, and all her Unicef PSAs, and she always loved children and committed so much of time toward awareness and helping children as refugees or war torn countries, such as I was at one time after the Korean War in reconstruction in Busan. In all her grace, we often forget her own tragedy barely surviving World War 2, which could have been avoided with prudence and involvement instead of isolationism from the start. She barely survived the bombings, in the rubbles, from dance and barely surviving, had complications of child birth into her twenties, with jilted romance and others that a star is more prone. Despite all her travesties and personal struggles, she always seemed so graceful and approachable with deep concern for others, whether in third world countries or advanced. There's only one Audrey Hepburn.
Thank you for posting. I have been looking for this interview for years. So many feels. I saw this when it aired in 1990. I remember her untimely death at 63. My mom saw Audrey and then-husband Mel Ferrer walking out of a NY hotel in 1954.
She wasn't rising, some of Michelle's best films were behind her: Dangerous liasons, The Amazing Baker Boys, Scarface etc. Michelle was a full on star at this time.
@@mtngrl5859 Still, being complimented by Audrey Hepburn is an honor. Specially because contrary to herself, people actually believed she was one the most beautiful girls to ever grace Hollywood, and women specially looked up to her.
@@marcosc9130 Referring to Josephine Mateo's comment not Audrey's, Josephine said that Michelle was a rising star, Michelle at this time (1990) was already a global star. I agree being complimented by Audrey was a honor, Audrey was one of the most iconic stars to grace the screen.
Audrey is just something else, it's actually very hard to not instantly fall in love with her, but it's a completely different feeling from looking at girls like Gal Gadot, I thought is was just me but a lot of guys tell the same, she was almost ethereal, it's as if we don't even have the right to feel any desire for her, only deep admiration. Changed the way I interact with women completely, I always stop and think, how would I treat this girl if she was Audrey Hepburn? It's crazy but it true, she is such a role model to follow in pretty much every aspect of life.
One of the best and most iconic women who appeared in films; Hepburn won a competitive Oscar and was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Oscar posthumously. She starred opposite the best actors and dancers in the industry, including Astaire, Rex Harrison, Gregory Peck, Gary Cooper, Humphrey Bogart, William Holden, Burt Lancaster, Peter O'Toole, George Peppard, Alan Arkin, Albert Finney, Ben Gazzara, Anthony Perkins, Henry Fonda and Peter Finch. She travelled extensively for UNICEF while in pain from cancer.
What's even more lovely is that in October 1956 issue of Collier's magazine, Ingrid Bergman mentioned four names having God-given gift of great stage personality. She named Audrey last being the youngest among the four. ❤️❤️
@@jsmithmultimediatech , some people think that her fame was in her lovely looks , and her exceptional sense of style - but the truth is , that it was her radiant good humor that made her an icon of the age ! she had a brain and always seemed to use it , to the delight of anyone lucky enough to see her !
Truth that money cant by you class. Audrey had a regalness about her. But classless, not snobbish. A lot of these two a penny so called celebrities should study this beautiful icon
