if there’s one thing I know is Audrey Hepburn wouldn’t have been the face of a C-list chocolate company... I don’t think celebrities who have died should be the face of anything they didn’t agree to prior to death. disrespectful and capitalistic.

In her memoirs she stated that she didn't have food during the Holocaust as a girl and she remembered when she savored one bite of a piece of chocolate. She mentioned that that was all she had some days. She even did the same thing as an adult, that the struggle she went through as a girl stayed with her. Maybe she wouldn't roll her in grave at this, or maybe she would. We will never know.

@winnienguyen4420

@kiranjit rana well who do you think inspired Jayne though? Marilyn of course. And who inspired Marilyn? Betty Grable and Lana Turner. They all have a claim to the inspiration for Barbie.
@winnienguyen4420
@winnienguyen4420 3 года назад
@kiranjit rana Jean Harlow indeed was the first platinum blonde movie star, but due to her early death she didn't have the longevity and impact that her predecessors like Lana Turner and Betty Grable had. I mean Betty Grable was the most popular pin up girl for troops during WW2 and Lana Turner was Jean Harlow's replacement and was still in movies well into the 1960's even after Marilyn was gone.

@@tomemeornottomeme1864 it's cool that in this age youre able to recreate a person thats passed on and have them look and act in a way thats believable, for e.g fast and furious 7 when paul walker died the studios and the director were faced with a scenario where they cant film certain scenes without making it look hokey like getting a double and just filming only his backside and back of his head lol. They ended up using his brothers who resemble all of Paul's features n the whole time i was watching it it never occured to me how or what they did to make paul look like how he was as i was too immersed into the movie. Never had any uncanny valley moments in the movie. Rip paul walker.

yeah it's def possible. however they would lack the actual "acting" skills that most have. like how you deliver your words and your movement and the chemistry between the others in the movie. so I don't think you can just depend on CGI. i feel like the thing they worried about in the congress movie about actors is beginning to surface. with cgi, 3d camera capture, motion tracking, etc. in near future actors won't quite needed anymore, the industry can just capture their "essence", process it, and use it however they want using digital medias... idk how i felt about this

Makes me a little sad for her, but in the end it was a big part of who she was. Contrary to some hollywood "stars" today, she didn't think highly of herself or believed to be too important to be sweet and kind with every person. It's crazy to think about, but Audrey's looks are the least important part of why she is adored, her heart and soul are.

Because this is such a realistic fake human. Absolutely lovely, no doubt, and a huge step for technology. But it leads to a question of what could this technology do in the wrong hands? @Caleb Rimer I know she couldn't eat a lot of rich foods as her metabolism was damaged by wartime malnutrition, so I'm not sure she'd have been a fan of chocolate. This commercial always makes me cry. Audrey Hepburn was severely malnourished from the age of nine until she was sixteen. It happened during World War 2. She didn't have enough food to eat, and her body began to fail as a result. Her meals were frequently made up of endive, a low-calorie green leafy vegetable commonly used in salads, tulip bulbs dug up from the ground, and water. That's how Audrey survived. She would spend entire days in bed with a book, hoping to clear her mind of obsessive food thoughts. She also suffered from a variety of ailments caused by malnutrition, including asthma, jaundice, acute anemia, and even a severe form of edema. After the war, Audrey Hepburn became a voracious eater, and one of her favorite foods was chocolate, which she associated with freedom. On one of the last days of the war, a Dutch soldier gave her seven chocolate bars. Audrey Hepburn ate them all in one sitting, along with some condensed milk provided by a United Nations relief organization. An organization which she later on supported. To tell you, her love for chocolate stayed with her throughout the rest of her life. Audrey Hepburn kept candy bars in a chest of drawers in her living room. She also made chocolate cakes with whipped cream on a regular basis. Another obsession of the slim Hollywood starlet was British cigarettes. She smoked these until she died of cancer at the age of 63. Audrey maintained her slim figure throughout her life, even when she had a healthy appetite. Going back to this commercial, it made me tear up; seeing her reaction when she ate a piece of chocolate. It would always remind her of the war and the taste of freedom. The chocolate Dove, sold as Galaxy in the UK, Ireland, the Middle East, India and Australa; Ihave always loved this chocolate when I was still a child. I love how it's not so sweet. It tastes so creamy and silky. The comfort of this chocolate brings to someone. A perfect chocolate commercial of Audrey, knowing how meaningful chocolate was for her. Dove/Chocolate is absolutely my favorite chocolate. Now, whenever I eat it, it always reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and her life. It's more than my personal favorite chocolate now. Thank you for this wonderful and emotional ad.❤

Wow. When I first saw this when it came out however many years ago, I actually remember thinking this cgi looked so realistic. And now however many years later I can see the flaws where it gives away that it isnt a real person. I really thought it looked like a real person back then and technology has changed so much that my brain now expect better.. I guess? Bizarre.

I can see how some might find this creepy but I think it's pretty amazing technologically speaking. Also, chocolate was one of her most favorite foods for a few significant reasons so it would make sense for her to be in a chocolate commercial. Hearing moon river made me tear up a little♥️

The creepiest part is that now we know some living human "owns her likeness".

What if that was animated? Because I’ve seen some animations that have very very very realistic characters
@garichar

@@omegawoomy4356 No doubt there's a discipline of animation involved, but there's also a copyright stamp a 0:04 with Audrey's name trademarked. Her family legally owns any form of a deceased woman's image for commercial use. That's show business nowadays, and it's creepy.

Like the movie The Congress. This is creepy and it sucks that someone owns your image! 😱

Mj’s album was released after his death, Tupac had a hologram People own the estate of the deceased, it shouldn’t be a big surprise

She was a famous actress so of course her "likeness" is owned -_- no business company would just be allowed free of charge or permission to use her likeness in anything they wanted to promote that's just common business sense. It protects her image from being freely used by anyone to promote even something morally questionable which would tarnish her image & legacy.

This is sitting in the uncanny valley, there's something unsettling about that commercial.
