Thank you so much for your video, it’s been so helpful and inspiring. I’m glad to hear your daughter is back, and hoping your son and fur baby are on the mend and doing well. Goals and planning for your goals is a very personal thing. Before even I say anything there’s things you need to know like your learning style; colours/repetition/ verbal or listening learner. This will help you put things in to practice once you get a plan in place. Your physical and mental state plus where these need stabilising and support if it’s part of your plan/goal/or process. Your financial situation and debt situation. Your support circle/network and if this isn’t as helpful as you’d like then there is a need to bring in outside help/support/guidance and advice. What materials you have on hand? What can be recycled/up cycled or sold to free up some extra cash to put toward your goal stages and their budgets? Finally, and this is something someone asked me to check where head was at when I started…why do it want to do this/have this goal/change this or that? Is it because everyone else is doing it and in this case would it make YOU HAPPY and IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE…? Or if this is some YOU really WANT, NEED HAVE TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER OR ONCE AND FOR ALL…then this will become your why! YOUR WHY! This is essential if/when times get hard if/when you hit obstacles/challenges/difficulties/barriers or straight walls like me. You have to remember YOUR WHY and WHO AND WHAT you’re doing this for. At this point it can be also a good idea to create vision boards or such like in different sizes to help give you visual reminders, inspiration, hope and motivation. Wall sized, a4, a5, a6, a7, wallet sized and even key ring sized if it’s possible. Just a little something extra to help you on your journey. Another reminder is to know it’s not too late to try again, to rebuild again, something I’ve struggled with a lot recently. Essentially goals planning is like budgeting, you’ll have either a confirmed “target goal” or a rough idea of what you want to achieve. Just like in budgeting for example get debt free, buy that new kitchen without finance, raise enough for a deposit on your dream house etc. Then you need to work out what’s needed to achieve that goal. Is it lifestyle changes, financial changes, do you need help from a professional advisor etc etc. From there this is where you can get creative and your learning style comes in. Make a chart or poster, something that you can hang on the wall/put in your binder/ on your desk as a daily reminder and even something you can tick off or colour in as each stage is reached. Put your goal at the top, then starting at the bottom number and set up the steps to reach your goal. Number them or add colours, stickers, washi, highlighters, whatever you need to make it interactive, eye catching and something you will engage in/refer to everyday. Then once this rough outline is ready, and I say rough because things can and likely will change so you’ll need to leave space for changes or alterations, then bring in the professionals, specialists, consultants, financial advisers, citizens advice bureau who can help with these things too, who ever it is that can help, advise and point you in the right direction, getting you off the ground. Then get your supplies, materials etc bearing in mind the costs and your finances. If money is tight, budget to buy a little each time you have some spare money, and get started. This step can be very difficult for many because many goals just seem too big. But that’s the point. The goal is the end result, what you’re concentrating is just that next mini goal if you will. To get you to your big prize and this is why I say this is very personal because everyone’s system for goals is different but the general outline/structure is the same. Don’t do what is successful for others if it isn’t good for you. No goal or goals come easily, and that is another thing to consider, because your mental health and well-being need to be ok during this or be at least okay enough for you to build your plan. This can be something discussed if you have a mental health professional supporting you, plus adult social workers can help with guidance and support too. If it’s medically related bring in your GP to advise and guide you safely in the right direction. Whatever the goals this rough outline/structure tends to be helpful for where to start, but most of the time bringing in outside help will be the most helpful stage, because this is where you’ll get the nitty gritty details and information that will help, inform and guide you on your journey. If I can help any further then please let me know. I’m still in the planning stages of my journey as I’ve been hit with medical problems recently that have set me back almost 2 years. So, it’s a marathon and not a sprint. In order for these things to be built properly and to last, they need to done properly and if they are then hopefully, your needs, quality of life and wants will all be helped. Smashing the goals as always 🎉🎉 Debt/credit card when you’re on a low income is always going to be a bit of a roundabout until you get enough savings behind you that you can pay for life’s blips out your savings and still replenish. Otherwise it will be always add a little, pay a lot round n round. But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing. I think a lot of the problem with finance especially personal finance is how we all feel guilty and bad for being in debt, and it’s not going to help. The worse we feel the more it will pile on us. Especially if you’re like me and a bit of an emotional spender. And it’s easy to forget just how far we’ve come ❤ Please look at all the wins you’ve had since you began your journey❤ I remember when you first started it was simply to save for a funeral and have less of a financial burden on your future. And you know what, you’re absolutely winning at that. You’re almost at your £150 goal, and probably will hit that by the end of the year I’d think. Be proud of yourself. 🎉❤ Hope you have the best week ahead and life shines on you, take care 🐼 💜
