I'm still waiting for either Estepario to react to Matt or Drumeo to invite im or do something! This guy is a god, loved by everyone and still feel he's underrated on a more mainstream/popular side.
Yeah I've always noticed this as well, I don't think he ever got it down to a science using just fingers like Adam or some others. Matt seems like he has to force his way through a lot of the blast sections using the whole forearm
@@ItsATMDrums i feel he struggles with left hand flexibility even during non-blast beat parts. Which makes me wonder how is it people regard him as one of the genre's best drummers? Not hating, I'm actually genuinely curious.
@@JamesYusof I ask myself the same question when I read that I'm nominated for 'best drummer' haha! There's always work to be done and things to get better at! That's what I love the most about drumming 25 years in. Reading the comment section isn't fun but it sure is fuel to get out and keep practicing, thank you!
@@MattGreiner Matt, you are the biggest reason I started to take drums seriously and I'm sure there are many people like me. I've only just started learning when constellations album came out and it was the first time I heard of ABR. I just couldn't believe that a human can play like that and had goosebumps for days. After playing for about 10 years on and off, I finally could play some of the songs you've written and it felt so good it gave me even more reason to practice. Comment sections are wild, every single human has it's flaws, including musicians, but we never stop learning and developing our skills. Your playing style and drum parts are one of a kind and this is the reason I find you one of if not the best in the genre. Truly inspiring! I wish you and the whole squad of ABR the best and hope to see you perform again someday!
