Many have been stating that the first part was all white people, and that was the nice area. Actually, this was filmed during Master's week. Those people are rich people, from out of town, here to see the golf tournament. Normally that road (Washington Rd.) does not have a lot of people walking up/down it, and there are just as many black people there as there are white. That is not a 'nice area'. It's not 'bad' either. We do have some rougher areas in the Augusta area, just like any city. I just wanted to clarify that the first part wasn't the 'white' part of town.
@Lakesha James The first part is Washington Rd. and all those trailers are at Sandra Kennedy's church. That area isn't bad year-round and it's mostly white. From Lake Almstead down is blacks. If they could tear- down those shantys around 15th St. behind Kroger and build new houses or apartments for the hospital employees, it would prosper. But Kroger went to GRU and Augustans are leaving! Evans has business but Augusta is dying. One day, Augusta will be a ghost town. There aren't many low-income apartments in Augusta. It's not as bad as some places. There just aren't jobs available.
@@meliplay At the end of Eisenhower Dr., James Brown had a radio station, WRDW- AM, FM. It was a small brick building. During a commercial, he'd say, 'Hey, this is the Godfather of Soul, James Brown on WRDW- a.m. f.m., your soul-classic station!' Then they'd play, 'I feel good, you know that I would!' It was just below that baseball field, Eisenhower field, near T. Harry Garrett Elementary School. It was on the left near the train tracks. He had a shoeshine stand on Broad Street on the 500 block in front of a barber shop when he was 13.
@@hankbridges5055 I live on Haynie Dr but want to rent my house and cottage out so I was looking for perception on this neighborhood. I knew about James Browne it is so cool that he lived here.
A music group in the 70s name War, had a song called the world is a Ghetto now in 2019 this song is still relevant because this country and the 🌎 is truly a Ghetto.
Well for me personally friendliness is NOT on the top of my list. You know what is ? TRUTH(which involves living FOR it and IN it) & LOVE . Two things I noticed people in the csra LACK,sadly. Law enforcement AKA oinkies and the courts here in the csra are CORRUPT as can be. DO NOT MOVE TO AUGUSTA AREA OR NORTH AUGUSTA. You have been warned
Thank you for sharing this........The neighborhoods surrounding look like a whole "nother" world away from the glitz and glamor of that tournament..........
I live here and no, we don't have Spring here in Augusta, it goes from 32 one day to 98 the next with 100% sticky swamp air year around. What they don't show you on TV is that Augusta is located between a lake, river and swamp, meaning it might be only 78 out side but you can stand in the shade and have a river of sweat dripping off you from the humidity. And winter is no better.
I live in Augusta, & can tell y'all; I know every place shown the video & the housing projects shown at 5:00 in are not near the Augusta National. It's true though that the course is right in the middle of a typical southern town. All the other slums are not near the course either. The course is actually surrounded by old beautiful mansions, & they're impressive. This video is misleading.
stevebrownrocks lol, the Augusta national is totally near this kind of area. That whole area of Washington Rd is practically the ghetto with that country club kinda dropped in. Once passed Kroger, it’s downhill fast. I used to buy weed over there. You either don’t actually live in Augusta or rarely drive that area.
I live in National Hills, across the road from the National, and my neighborhood is middle class. Once you go down Calhoun expressway you start heading downtown. It's a mix. There are no hoods near the National!
I was a mail man in Augusta for about 10 yrs. Delivered mail basically every home. Areas where the Masters is, always got a bunch a mail. Loved how pretty it was, but loved the hood because blocks of burnt down houses meant no mail easy days...miss the A.U.G!! 30904/30901😊
Police say their investigation into the shooting at the RU-vid headquarters has been hampered by having to sit through a 5 second ad before interviewing each witness.
All of his videos show the rough/ghetto areas because most people don't feel safe going there, he's allowing us to see these places without being in danger. He films the ghetto areas of seemingly nice areas like Toronto as well, he's not intending to insult the cities. Everyone knows all these cities have nice areas as well, but that's not what we are interested in seeing
Are trying to hide something? Why are you so offended people come to his videos to see the rough parts of every town. If want to show the other side of Augusta make your own video. For years they have been showing the masters on tv 📺 nobody knew this part of town even existed. So yeah I get it and so do his 100k plus subscribers.
THE601 yeah check out Belle meade, forest hills, green hills, the gulch, oak hills, belmont, and 12 south. The bad hoods are slowly being redeveloped by rich developers. Search '2 house 1 lot' they're very common in those areas now.
Thank you so much, now I know exactly where to go. I've been to Nashville for music many times and will be coming up there to write some the end of this month after hitting some other cities. Never really looked around for hoods up there but you gave me a huge headstart.. Thanks again!
I’m reading these comments and literally 90% don’t know what you’re taking about lol. Yes, Augusta has areas that are considered “the hood” but there are a lot of areas that are the complete opposite! From 2016 and before, some of our schools have been consistently ranked top in the state and the schools I’m mentioning have a very even split demographic which the schools pride themselves for having, we have Grammy’s that reside in this city, celebrities born and raised in this city (even if they don’t claim it), etc. Don’t judge Augusta unless you’ve lived there and experienced every part from Hepzibah and all the way up to Evans.
Hephzibah and Evans are thier own town. Out skirts of Augusta. And the dont affiliate themselves with augusta unless they are giving someone a landmark to where they r located. Augusta is the second or third largest city in GA but by far the less advanced.
Eric Hardric what up bro. The weather is perfect, in Tacoma.not ever to hot, or cold. Im actually in Tacoma, but I say Seattle cause more people know that city in the state. Where you living at now? Sometimes I do want to go back to Augusta, but man it can be hard there. But I miss home a lot tho.
+djkoolaid253 Man, I'm in Aiken SC and it sucks donkey balls! Speaking of balls, it's so damn hot I get swamp nuts everyday I go to work! I thought I saw the devil at work the other day, it was just my supervisor. I know it's hot in Augusta too, but I would rather be there ten times over. But I'm jealous of you right now, I remember summer time in Lakewood Terrace was gorgeous! I remember climbing the old lady's apple tree behind our apartment building and eating apples until I was full, man those were the good old days! I really think I should come back.
Eric Hardric hahaha I know you mean with the hot part lol. Bro, come back! There's lots of job hiring here! My new job I just got ( shuttle bus).is hiring 60 people, for a new contract they got. If you need help with stuff I got you man. Plus its hard to find friend's in Washington, with the Seattle freeze bull crap.
Eric Hardric man I feel you on that Niggas won't go home part lol I used to have that problem. But yeah, Seattle freeze is real bro, no matter how likable you can be. When I lived in Augusta I never had a issue meeting people. I smoke weed too, I ain't got to worry about it, even tho some jobs out here still test for it now that its legal. But think about it bro, not sure if you got family where you at and don't want to leave..but its pretty good here.
You know something , i hardly watch tv anymore because some somewhere decided to post drives through of some of the cities in this country like this man here , and post cycling through places like mexico and such , because these people believed it would be interesting to do so, those people where correct . Hats off to you charlie . all the new stuff is the stuff we havent seen yet , and not the stuff that doesnt exist
I have no clue what the whole point of this video is. Every city in the US has an impoverished area of the community. Just because Augusta National is located in Augusta and the Masters Golf Tournament is played there, doesn't change that.
London is a shitty place, even worse when you stay in no-go areas. A lot of Brits i know are moving into Poland and are living there happily. much cheaper stuffs, bigger houses. The only problem is Poles do not speak English and Polish is hard to learn.
Yeah from what I've seen on T.V London is a depressing place right now, the US has much more to offer e.g different states along with the various climate's, I'm also from UK.
WithAStick AngryWhiteMan This is probably one of the stupidest comments I’ve ever read. “Brits moving to Poland”. It’s the complete opposite, and there are no “no-go” areas in London, stop acting dumb
Show people the Glenn . SHOW THEM HOW SO MANY DONT HAVE A/C OR PLUMBING!! You wanna show the hood go to the real hoods and raise awareness on their living conditions
Just because some places are more densely populated and urban in design doesnt necessarily make it more hood than another. To give an example. Northeastern ghettos never "looked" as friendly as Cali hoods with yards outside lifting weights but that didnt make places like Compton any less "hood" than the Bronx.
Darrell Sadler My cousin lives in Augusta and lives in a very nice house, what I don't understand is the very expensive cars and trucks parked outside of these worn out houses? The people up north always say that people down south drives nice vehicles and live in raggedy homes
You Only went down town and filmed maybe 10 miles of older run down area If you would have turned around you could have filmed the other 90% of the CSRA Never mind that would have been some beautiful areas Why don’t you try again

Augusta is good place to raise a family if you are established in your career or can find a good job. The only knock on Augusta is the lack of things to do. I will say that Augusta is a little rough. As far as being dangerous, Augusta is basically like south and east Atlanta with less crime. Every time im in these areas it reminds me of home. I remember as a teenager the biggest difference between Atlanta and Augusta was the mentality of the club goers. In Augusta clubs be prepared to fight and in Atlanta be prepared to talk to some girls. Things may have changed because that was over 10 years ago. I always joke with people and say that everybody in Augusta have a little James Brown in them.
Im from South Africa. Can you advise why people abandon houses like that there in the States? Do families just decide to move to other places and just leave houses like that? Why? They can't get buyers or something? What was the precedence to all this? Yeah well the area doesn't look dangerous and I like the fact that people don't throw rubbish on the ground. But surely many of those houses (I mean where I am seeing those beautiful cars and folk sitting) can just buy a spade and trim the grass themselves, some flowers and paint and that place will look beautiful. Frankly I wouldn't have my house beautiful sitting next to an abandoned next-door; I'd rather cut their grass at least so that it doesn't affect the value of my pty even as it is abandoned - you need to defend the beauty of your neighbourhood, it does have great potential. Tx
cecil roberts because Augusta is often percieved as all golf courses and rich peoples mansions and bustling commercial strips. This video proves that a complete myth.
People should get on SSI and Social Security and Food Stamps. If approved for SSI etc. and if a parent has died, you very well may be eligible for 2 lump sum checks for $6,000 each! That's $12,000 free and clear to spend as you please! You have 3 months to spend each. It comes from your parents Social Security. Only 2 people in a household can get SSI and Social Security. Your Food Stamps depends on YOUR income, not your parents that you live with. You can have your money direct deposit in your account from Social Security to your bank. You can get a debit card.
Many of my subscribers have been posting requests and sending private messages asking for me to go and do videos in certain places out west especially lately, including the Los Angeles area, Oakland, Texas cities such as Dallas, and Houston. Also many more southeast cities, Miami, Birmingham also St Louis, Boston, New Orleans, and many others. This as you know is very expensive. I will eventually go to these places, if you would like to see this happen sooner rather than later, please make a donation to through Paypal donation I have set up with a debit or credit card, no matter how big or small. Thank you all for watching and subscribing. www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=Y8EV4MERM4MTE&lc=US&item_ name=CharlieBo313¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted
First of all stop giving your own comment a thumbs up. People request me to go certain places which I do. They are the ones who suggested the donations. I ain't asking you for shit. I work too, I make more than you on both. This is my hustle, I don't come to your job bothering you telling you how to sweep.
frank Who was talking to your dirty ass. Why don't you tell Twetieth Century Fox and other motion picture companies to give back to the communities they make movies about .
I used to live in the apartments directly behind the golf course. Getting to and from work was a nightmare but the saving grace was being able to walk to the tournament without having to shell out major parking fees
I am honestly confused. Most of the homes you're filming nobody lives in. Secondly, why didn't you film any of the good areas in downtown Augusta? Example being broad street or some shit.
You mean to tell me its almost 2020 and people still live like this? I didn't know houses with tin roofs still exists,i thought Mississippi was bad but Augusta takes the cake. This is where the masters tournament is played, where is all that money going, definitely not to the community.Thank you Charlie boy i will never go to this place this looks worst than a third world country.
I remember the Shultz Drive-In! That's when families drove their cars on those sloping ramps and hooked up the speaker to the window. If somebody left their lights on, people would honk their horns because the headlights were shining on the screen! We got Coke and popcorn. National Hills theatre was there at National Hills. At Daniel Village, Santa came to K-Mart! In '70, my Dad bought a car at O.K. Used Cars on Greene Street near Greyhound. The old library had furniture from the '60's.
Ay Nako! The Augusta National is on Washington Rd. The apartment complex ghetto part is down on East Boundary near Pull-A-Part. junk yard. Our ghetto isn't like other areas!
"In my hometown where I used to stay. The name of the place is Augusta, GA. Down there we have a good time. We don't talk. We all get together in time, for rhythm then we do the camel walk..." James Brown-There Was A Time
Bukk the Left I know this city I live here. Underwood and Sunset dont even exist anymore they tore down them project. Dogwood terrace which is South Side projects is still there. Barton Village, Apple Valley, Meadow Brooke, Woodlake, Pepper Ridge, Wood Valley, Fairington, Mt. Zion, Pine Walk, Trinity Manor, those are the hood hoodss!!!!! UPTOWN
Wow my dad is from Augusta, and still have family there. I attended Barton Chapel Elementary, Morgan Road Middle and a brief time at Glenn Hills. However, when the mission changed for Fort Gordon, it effected the economics, like every where else. Granted, those times were innocent, I will forever treasure them. That housing project looked like Delta Manor. Talk about bleeding a turnip, for government control, that been there for over 60 years.
Sounds like a bunch of people on here deflecting the poverty in this city. Hmm let me guess the people that don’t live in it or only go for the masters so they want to ignore the issue. Like people saying “plenty of bad parts in every town” well we aren’t talking about every town we are talking about Augusta !!!!
This video is 3 years old and has no words. Two things: 1. Three years ago Augusta was well into the race of becoming the heartbeat of America in Cybersecurity. 2. The areas being shown in the video that viewers are calling the hood. If you go there today it’s being gentrified. The city is changing and pushing lower class to the south side and other out skirts areas. Augusta has grew 200k population over the last 3 years. I would advice anyone that think Augusta,GA is a dying city look into Urban Planning. Last if Augusta,GA want to be better get them old farts out of office put some fresh minds and legs in charge.
The money generated from the masters, taxes, grants, etc is for THE CITY OF AUGUSTA. NOT THE CHOSEN. This is what I interpreted the video to mean. However Read the Bible. It explains why the Israelites are in such dyer straits. But Yah has not forgotten his chosen people.
Right, i mean if you aint interested in places other than where you live then you prolly dont care, but personally i think homie is providing a service for curious minds with this shit
This is not the area around the masters every place that they went to was bad neighborhoods/ the hood the neighborhoods around the area of the masters are very nice and upscale the title of this video is very misleading
Its very dangerous no matter what your color. Its a big show put on once a year. There have been so many shootings this year and its only April. Poor 2 year old little angel was killed last week because moms boyfriend wasnt being allowed to use his girlfriends car. This crap goes on all year
Yeah but serious question, does Savannah have hoods like Atlanta? Another serious question.. When you say Savannah.. Do you say it like, Savannah ooh na na?
Yeah it’s dangerous , and it’s similar to Other cities like New Orleans and Charleston many people say . Atlanta is just bigger though that would be the only difference the hoods in Savannah is bad for a city it’s size
You drove around one area in Augusta. You should have came to Belair estate where there 600 to 800 thousand dollars neighborhood where only black people stay! ( where I live)!!
Yeah id break that up for ya but I'd rather have a trailer and land to live life on. Then be cooped up in a house just bc it's big...all that money to look out the front door and see about 4 or 5 neighbors houses at one time. Well I'd rather not...js.
This isn’t where augusta national golf course is. Only a small portion of the video is the tournament area. The rest is a tour of the public housing off of Old savannah road and the avenues. It’s about a 15 minute drive without traffic. An hour drive during tournament
Paolo Donzella I went to school with Hulk Hogan from the 6th-10th grade. I watched Hulk-A-Mania being born right before my eyes on the playground in the 6th. I was standing about 6 ft. away from him. He came up with the name in the 6th when he was 13. His REAL name is Rick Williams. He went to A. Brian Merry Elementary, John M. Tutt Jr. High, and Westside High School. He has a sister Beverly and a brother Larry. He was on the football team in the 6th, 7th, not the 8th, and he was on the team 9-12th. I've posted a picture of him on Home Page in the 8th! If you want me to post it again I will. Let me know.
Paolo Donzella On Home Page on G+ I put his 8th grade picture from my 8th grade yearbook! I have that yearbook right here in my room! In the 6th, he was sitting next to my right when a girl across the room said 'Rick Williams says he's going to become a wrestler and he's going to call himself Hulk Hogan.' A feeling came over me that it's true and I said 'I believe we have a celebrity in our presence.' It turned out to be true! Rick, he became Hulk Hogan! He had that gravely voice even when he was in the 6th grade. His boyhood home is at 3104 Sussex Rd. in Augusta, Ga. It's yellow with double open ended carport. There's bordergrass on both sides of the driveway. The driveway slants. Check MAPQUEST.
Lmao mfs in the comments missed the point of the video, it wasn't to just show the masters... dude showcases the bad areas of each city to show how people are livin'... Augusta is half rich people, and half strugglin families doin' what they gotta do to survive 🤷🏾♂️
The school system is averaging a 52 on the standardized exam for the state. The school system is horrifying and is failing every year . Doesn't matter that we have nice areas the school system is terrible . Don't raise a family here if you're from out of town
Clean With Confidence People don't know what he looks like but it's a van with short front. You see his reflection in the mirror about his van. It's white.
I was just referring that in some hoods, gangs block off their streets so anyone who drives down is at risk regardless of who you are or what you look like. They will spike the road, pull you out and rob you for driving in their hood.
Clean With Confidence Yes, in some areas they do. It brings down property values. The city can't afford to clean up everything. Vacant houses collapsing can be torn down. Usually the city foots the bill.
Clean With Confidence You are a damn liar I never heard of that being done to know one in Augusta. I ride through the quote on quote Hood and that has never happen.
Im labeling alot of these areas in this video the slums because of how run down squalid and delapitated it looks the only thing missing is graffiti but I'm still labeling it slums even though there ain't no graffiti for the finishing touch LoL
