Here from TwoSet IG’s story. I’m a pianist and I have never listened to something so pure and unique regarding Bach’s interpretation.

Augustin's bach music is probably Bach's favorite version. It feels like exactly what Bach intented to play.

A great violinist will play beautifully. But an artist will reveal a truth that you weren’t aware of or didn’t know. That’s what our dear Augustin does here. No detail is too small or note too insignificant. Yet he doesn’t lose sight of the overarching architecture. And still he takes all this and steps beyond whatever we’ve heard before to present this familiar masterpiece in a new, wondrous, and unfamiliar way.

Augustin revealed the truth to me when I first heard his Chaconne. I fell on my knees and bawled. It was so intense that I couldn't control my self. So I just allowed myself to feel. Bach changed all of our lives and Augustin serving as his vessel changed mine that day.

Bach's world was filled with sounds that don't exist anymore, covered over by noise pollution. Imagine listening to ship paddles squeaking as the boats rocked next to their docks. Thanks for posting this Augustin. As always, you are terrific!

Perfect balance on Andante (between melody and accompaniment.) Great breathing techniques (inhaling on up-bows and exhaling on down-bows; performing just like the way you taught us...perfection.) Allegro is just insanely, breathtakingly, SUPERB.... What a treat!!

The andante is, in my opinion, by far the best version I ever listened to. I always envy the violin as a solo instrument...I am limited to one note at the time and, though in the orchestra we oboists can create something absolutely magical, nothing can be quite as simple yet beautiful as Bach on the violin.

I came here looking for the Allegro as sample recording for my practice but the Andante was soo good I couldn’t skip to the Allegro! Such wonderful tone and pleasant phrasing.

I always wonder how Bach made the best pieces for the violin with using minimal shifting to higher positions and minimal vibrato. I guess he was the one of the first people to publish during a simpler time but these melodies are indeed god's work.

I was so inspired by this, I wrote, or should I say finished my first Sonata. It's a Tuba quartet for Tuba, Violin, Tambourine, and Chalkboard in the key of C major. I call it Sonata Number 1 for Tuba, Violin, Tamborine, and Chalkboard in C Major. It's my first piece, so Op.1. It starts with a 5-minute Tuba solo all in the lowest C possible, then a 10 interlude by the Violin playing in C major by double harmonics, then non-stop tambourine for half an hour and 10-minute fingernail screech on the chalkboard both also in C major. Technically, a chalkboard screech covers the whole spectrum, and yet has a pitch so wrongfully called "white noise" (let alone racist term for auditory phenomena), but I'm comfortable calling the pitch C major. Honestly, other than a big surprise shift (because shifts happen) in the Tuba score to C# then back to C for a half-note near the end and ultimately the surprise, intense, shocking ending tying all together, the rest of the piece, and I'm talking every single note, is in C. Honestly, I wanted a bigger ending with a cannon, but the people would claim I ripped of Tchaikovsky though unfortunately, the whole inspiration behind the piece was pissing off my next-door neighbors. As it stands, realistically speaking, it would be a stretch to hope to win a big award with it unless the contest was held in an ayahuasca resort in the Amazon jungle, but I got huge speakers, so it's rock and roll classical style ala neighbors. It would be a real honor if Maestro Hadelich would be among the quartet to give the world premiere of this piece of which he was indeed a huge inspiration, but I can't ask during COVID season. Plus, he does live in NYC (I think) and if so, he still needs to stay in his corral and socially distance. Fortunately, I've started on one in the key of A-minor so by the end of summer, he should have already be good on the antibody side just as it's ready for prime time.

Oops--shout-out: To Possibly the best String Quartet you'll ever hear if you get the chance: Go *Formosa Quartet!* They're out of Taiwan but in the US often. Watch for an amazing piece of work, from a larger one by Clancy Newman...called Nunca Es Sufficiente. Crazy plucking. Even the great Maestro Hedelich would require significant practice! Taiwan is being hit hard right now, so wish them well. Okay, no more compliments.
