Look at the facial expressions of the musicians around him, above all the woman behind him...As a a violinist, she knows very well how difficult that Paganini's Capriccio is and how great and unspeakable Hadelich's technic and musical talent are!
Mr. Hadelich's ingenious and innovative phrasing of this famous caprice is breathtaking and wondrous. His spiccato is crisp and biting, yet resonant and ringing. He makes you forget how difficult this piece really is. Instead, he makes beautiful music out of what is essentially an exercise. It is rare to see in one violinist both great artistry and transcendental technique. His creative musicality, the perfection of his playing, his unassuming and unaffected stage presence and poise, and his consummate artistry make him - in my opinion - the top violinist in the world today.
I love this 5th caprice, and I know how beautifil it is. And insane difficult. Augustin Hadelich, for first time in the world, with a supreme technique, shows gardens and gardens of beauty in his rendition. Finally, in my life, I can listen not only virtuosism, but each mudulation, phrasing, perfection and so much beautiful. God bless this wonderful artist!
