@@liamnevilleviolist1809 Bro what do you expect they're professional violinists of course they can play a challenging piece from start to finish!! It's not like they became RU-vidrs because they weren't good enough to have a orchestral career, it isn't exactly shocking that they're able to play pieces that they either know/have heard before!
@liamnevilleviolist1809
@liamnevilleviolist1809 2 года назад
@@lauracookson9559 Yes but they worked a *long* time on that Sibelius and would need to work a long time on other concerti too, whereas professional-professional violinists [who don't operate a RU-vid channel to get laughs] have many concerti and many pieces ready to play from beginning to end in a moment's notice. That's more my point. Some like Kavakos or Vengerov or Hilary Hahn can literally be asked something like "play the 2nd movement of the Brahms concert" or "play Paganini Caprice no. 13" and they just can. I don't believe Brett and Eddy can do this based on their skill level. They're very good violinists and they're very successful, I so guess that's what makes them "professional" and yes I don't doubt that they could play in an orchestra if they applied. They chose a different entertainment route though and that's fine.

I started learning violin 9 months ago, i decided to joined a summer symphony so i could learn more. My teacher told the class to join the symphony and that we would learn more. It's way too fast for me because Im still learning and didn't really understand any of it. I had to learn a lot of new things in a month, and i would always go home stressed. Because I don't know other people that play violin i had to go on RU-vid. I found TwoSet and they helped me learn a lot. Now i come back home and watch TwoSet and thanks to them, i don't stress out about it as much. I went from playing beginer songs, to being able to do an okay vibrato, being able to play more flats and sharps, and a few more things. I have 2 performance this week. I can play parts of the songs correctly now, so thank you

There’s about 3 lines of just fingered octaves in the middle that go *insanely* fast, cross strings quite frequently, and go pretty high up the finger board (yay intonation). Not to mention that there’s some messed up spacing that results in the player needing to stretch out some tenths. But again, it’s personal opinion. It’s also my first Paganini caprice so :’)

I'm a pianist and I am currently learning the Liszt etude six, which is the pag 24 one. I have tried all of the Liszt etudes, and I can't do any of them for now. The fourth etude is also pag 1 which is the easiest one because it is on one line. But it is all 32 notes, which makes it super hard.
@Aclusios
@Aclusios 3 года назад
The version of the 4th etude you are looking at is the revised one, just type on RU-vid Liszt etude 4 1838, we don't know the tempo it was supposed to be played at but if we assume it should be close to the violin one then the 1838 4th etude may be the hardest piece ever written by Liszt
@Aclusios
@Aclusios 3 года назад
Etude 6, and la Campanella also have a 1838 version and both are way harder than the famous revised ones on youtube

@franzurjisorabliszt 3 года назад
@@Aclusios Liszt no4 s140 is pretty hard, one of the hardest I agree, but not as hard as his s420 and s700ii, I love liszt etude 3 s140 more than the s141(which is the famous la campanella) as it has paganini 1 mvt 3 and in the end mixes it with la campanella, which is pretty dope ngl

@jamessivanyc
@jamessivanyc 3 года назад
@@franzurjisorabliszt I need some advice. I have been playing piano for 9 years with pro lessons, and I can only reach an octave. La campanella requires a lot of jumping, which I can do for most of the time. But, etude No. 6's theme already has a tenth arpeggio in the theme, not to say anything about the fourth, and the last variation, which are the parts that scare me. So, in the end, which piece should I learn?

When you can play the 24-th caprice, and do a hoola hoop in the same time, without getting wrong a single note, you surely are allowd to rank all Paganini caprices...and we believe your ranking is right.

While I find Twoset’s tier list to be pretty interesting, I feel that Twoset is kinda overlooking other techniques in the caprices. Ex. In caprice no. 7, there are fast arpeggios, upbow staccato, and really fast thirds in the second half of the caprice which they probably didn’t consider. A protege of Perlman actually made a tier list of his own and it’s interesting to see the differences in their rankings -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m0LZw2p_DcE.html But, they both agreed that “dun dun Dun dun dun DUN” is still ranked as the easiest caprice in both of their lists 😂😂😂
@ajchandra7735
@ajchandra7735 3 года назад
In the beginning of the video, they mentioned the word “subjective”. Also for technique driven pieces like the caprices, everyone would find the caprices with the techniques they are not good at more challenging no? Like how Brett is good at upbow staccato and he ranked no 10 very low in difficulty while Eddy, who is weak at staccato wanted it to be ranked much higher.
@huangary9916
@huangary9916 3 года назад
@@ajchandra7735 u made some good points! Maybe it’s also cause Twoset’s in a time crunch so they weren’t able to mention every single nuance that backed up their tier list. Still an InTerEsTiNg video nonetheless
