Back in the mid to late 60s, drove with my friend, Joe in his sister's Nova with a bunch of girls, drinking some Schlitz beer and singing to Guti's music til all hours of the night. Sadly, My friend passed and there went our good times. Now all we have of those awesome times are Giti's music and our memories that live with me forever along with my friend, in my aching heart. Awesome music that'll only die for me, when I die. God Bless, people!
I am a native "Nuevo Mejicano" from New Mexico, but when I was stationed with the Navy at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in 1960 I got to appreciate the Tejano sound. My girlfriend and I attended many concerts at the Corpus Christi Colleseum that featured Agustine, Freddy, Sunny and Joe Bravo.
My dad had all his records and he'd play them when I was young. LOL of course he was always singing along and bit getting drunk. Damn miss the old Man.
I love this "oldie" Tejano music. Agustin has that unique singing style like Freddy Martinez. He sort of sings deep in his throat which is very unique. Sunny Ozuna lets it all come out just like Little Joe.
Learned to dance to these songs my jefitos would listen to this music I'm 33 an I still jam out to these songs an remember my jeffito dios lo tenga en su Gloria
