I'm not that much into reggae or dub but this is simply mind-blowing... I feel sorry for whoever disliked this song, he must be utterly unhappy with his life...
through our 75 to 80 years of life on this planet we come across a handle of tunes which truly inspire us for the better things in life, this tune will be among my top five. love and peace to all noddyneeds
Utterly beautiful and completely sublime. This is the sound of London, Birmingham and many UK cities in the late 1970s like hip-hop was to New York in the early 1980s. In both instances the music was everywhere. It was like a soundtrack to life. Thanks for posting.
love this tune. it's tough to explain, but especially when combined with this footage, it brings back memories of a place i've never been to. y'all feel me?
digitronUK - good video ,well edited..... If anybody watches the end of the(original) version of lech Kowalski's "78 punk doc"(from 1980 ) 'D.O.A. a right of passage' they might get an idea of its inspiration . The track as stated Is 'A P Special' ,a version of 'brace a boy'- by Dillinger .Both from 10 track LP from '79 'original rockers', which is now a 23track cd , an essential disc for anyone that likes A.Pablo....
@@williamdew7143 - the best dressed chicken (in town)could well be .. trying to figure which shops etc..Dub Vendor ? Tads? Rough Trade?? the QPR Graffiti & 'Grove Records' (Sons of Jah,Glen Brown ,V Jackson etc) label that shut down early '80s should give some indication .. the Sound System at the end? ...can see a picture of JA producer Gussie Brown who supplied rhythms to Sir Lloyd Coxsone for his 'King of the Dubb rock' ..but really am guessing
@@williamdew7143 oh right!!...i think about seeing the 'New' version of DOA but maybe its like the 'possible places' from this video ..(Hi- Definition ,its clearer, but not always better).
@@williamdew7143 ..Just seen that DOA is still on RU-vid...so looked at the end credits & the Tower blocks 'I know from somewhere'...& as by 1980 I was living near Norwich, going to & from London we nearly Always went by 'the east route' (even when in North London) ...going via ilford, Chelmsford, A12 to Ipswich....So... Hackney is a likely contender. I'll have to look find some photos ... virtually tell a year by the printing ,paper & film speed & reaction to fluorescent....( Terry could always have got a job as a stand in for Ray Gange)
This flow is so smooth it's retarded. Modern artists would find it impossible to duplicate such melodies cause our capacity for imaginative concepts and inspirations from the nether dimensions swelling up from our inner Godhood, has been capped. How can a melody so make the ghetto a richplace. Long live this era of Kingston, Jamaica and Pablo.
