i have … an essay on this. wanderer, as kabukimono at the time, was befriended by niwa. now keep in mind, niwa is the ancestor of kazuha kaedehara. dottore ll then killed niwa, for the ultimate cause of making hysteria at tatarasuna for a future fatui plot. however, dottore ll killed niwa while kabukimono was requesting an audience with the Shogun (the request was unsuccessful), so when kabukimono came back, dottore told him that his friend had fled due to cowardice. the ‘fled part’ was a lie but a lie believable due to the fact that people were mysteriously dying, due to malevolent energy from the remains of orobashi. now, kabukimono wanted a heart, and so dottore ll gave him a bix with niwa’s heart in it. but, dottore ll lied and told him it was the heart of a subordinate niwa killed before he fled. overwhelmed with anger and sorrow, kabukimono threw away the heart and left tatarasuna. this would be considered his second betrayal. after he left, the head sword smith murdered kabukimono’s other friend for ‘freeing’ him // many people say that wanderer, as scaramouche to be clear, killed kazuha’s family. now, this isn’t entirely correct, scaramouche killed most of the kaedehara clan and led to the downfall of it. this was as an act as vengeance later (on the head sword smith beforementioned) by ruining all five main sword smith families. however, he stopped some point in killing of the kaedehara clan, because he noticed a resemblance with niwa. thus was because he recognised kazuha’s great grandfather, and it's revealed the grandfather is not kaedehara by blood, but adopted after his own father disappeared. and so he stopped his vengeance because it would require killing the family of his friend, as kazuha’s great grandfather was actually niwa’s descendant. // now onto kazuha’s side. now the deaths on the kaedehara clan made the originally wealthy clan to fall in debt so when it was kazuha’s turn to inherit the money, there was none left. wealth was never kazuha’s priority so he decided live a life of wandering instead. obviously after wanderer erased himself, no one can remember him except the few exceptions of traveller, paimon and nahida. but to speculate, personally i think that kazuha still would be able to accept him, and at best, forgive him. this is due to his personality, and how accepting the past and moving on is such an important part of his character. in his story quest he says: “but to make this arduous journey, you committed countless atrocities, and showed a blatant disregard for human life.” this quote gives the connotation that kazuha doesn’t approve if his acts, but has accepted it. note that the only person who kazuha will never forgive is the shogun, shown in his quest and his character voicelines. // to sum up, kazuha doesn’t hate ‘scaramouche’. unless they have future interactions, you can’t exactly say that kazuha hates or forgives him, in my opinion. wanderer obviously isn’t trying to kazuha, as he is technically niwa’s descendant and also because wanderer has moved on from the wrong actions taken in his past. that’s it for the very long lore explanation. please note that i’m not a kazuscara shipper nor a hater, but i just wanted to explain this controversy. if i made any mistakes, please tell me and i’ll correct it.
