Fun fact! This episode was directed by one of jjk s1’s main animators kouki fujimoto! Instead of working on s2 he decided to work on frieren.

10:51 the way she spins around the spear and grabs it, is one of the coolest things ive seen. its subtle but very immersive.

This clearly shows the passion and love the Madhouse team put into Frieren. Even that little detail of having the lightning shown first before the sound comes in is crazy accurate like how an actual lightning happens.

Stark lightning strike is so freacking epic, i can't remember how many times i have watched that, the song playing is so FREAKING GOOD

Very good reaction, Alana! You caught on that the necklaces had family crests. Some other reactors thought that's how Aura was controlling them. Also the way they animated Stark putting on his jacket was incredible and really not needed, but we sure appreciate it. Stark and Fern are the real deal. Especially Fern. What a bad ass.

Love how much attention was put on everything. Yeah that was the most beautiful "putting on a jacket" animation I've ever seen.

Now you can see why Frieren trusted Fern and Stark so much and was sure they could beat their opponents. I was so proud of both of them ❤ This episode (and the one after) are so good, and I'd rewatch them so many times you have no idea! Actually, there is a very good reason why Lügner underestimated Fern (also Draht - the Demon Frieren killed last episode - did the same with Frieren) and it will be explained (but I suppose you already know it, considering you are way ahead with the reactions). The line Stark tells Linie ("My master's hits were much heavier") is so true: she can copy his abilities - yes - but she didn't train her body to "sustain" them on herself. Stark, on the contrary, was able to train while fighting constantly "the world's strongest Warrior" and could experience first-hand Eisen's power, so of course to him Linie's hits were not comparable to Eisen's. He only needed the confidence. Stark isn't really aware of how strong he is, and I hope he'll come to realize it soon. 5:00: I'm glad you noticed this! Madhouse is totally cooking with Frieren, even such a simple action is animated so well!

One of my favoutrite episodes, this whole little mini arc in general is just so good.

This has to be my favorite episode of anime I've seen in at least two years

This one really got to me, because Stark despaired when he realized that the demon was mimicking his master, but that's just because he doesn't know his master was afraid of him. As soon as she said that, it was over.

I got chills watching that fight myself. Such a beautifully done fight!

Next episode is gonna be a PEAK episode, can't wait to see your reaction Alana.

Fern embodies the Bruce Lee saying, "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." Just wait though, there's reasons why Frieren has absolute trust in her and Stark.

Eisen knew that stark was stronger, but stark didn't know that. He believed eisen to be stronger because he always lost to him. That's also why he thought he had no chance of winning at first when he heard that he is facing Eisen's techniques.

When Aura says that Himmel is long gone she does so to taunt Frieren, that's why Frieren immediatly says, "That's right you demons are monsters after all", reminding herself that they cannot be communicated with.

Lugnar getting distracted by Linnie's death, is a curious thing: was self preservation in a sense of help won't be coming or did he actually care about her? Either way it sealed his death. Stark & Fern stepped up!👏

Just so it's clear for people, all these guards weren't killed in combat by Aura. Aura took over their bodies, AND THEN decapitated them afterwards, so that if they "regain control" of their bodies they just die. Just goes to show how evil they are

I'm sure many have said this already, but Frieren's title would be better as "Frieren the Ender" and not Slayer, as Sousou in japanese is referring to the end of something and someone/something that ends life, like Death and the Undertaker. I mean, it's the tittle of the show too: "Sousou no Frieren" which wasn't translated as Frieren the Slayer but as Frieren: the Journey's end.

It's funny how Fern was prey at the start and after the first shoot fired she became the huntress. Lügner just danced at the Fern's palm all the time.
