What a pity that such voices couldn't be recorded with modern technology. But even so, we can appreciate them. Pertile certainly was one of the greatest tenors of the 20th century.
Totally agree!! I first heard Pertile’s voice in the mid 1970’s , thought he was an incredible singer. Not too long after , read that he was one of Toscanini’s favorite tenors! What better recommendation. Enough said!

Malgré la mauvaise qualité de l'enregistrement, due sans doute à son ancienneté, il est incontestable que la voix d'Aureliano Pertile était puissante et somptueuse.🙏
