Yes, interesting reaction. Song writing and creative parts feels good, as always, but I don't like the production. Mostly because it feels distorted like it's some bad demo version. I guess the technical side of production isn't her strong side. Most songs in the first half of the album I just skipp, or listen to good live versions of those songs, because of the production. I don't think it would sound this bad if Magnus or Odd had been helping her with all songs. Most songs in the second half have a lot better production, even if the dance/techno/rave influences are not my thing. Hopefully she will go with more rock or even metal influences next album, like The Blade that has some rock influences. When The Dark Dresses Lightly is also a litle rock-pop, the live from Roskilde is of course better. I like the folky A Soul With No King, but the Vevo live of that song has a lot more energy in the vocal, not as folky though.
Thank you. I think in general, production is so subjective. It doesn't bother me, I think it fit the music however, I understand where you're coming from. I'm always intrigued to hear the same song produced differently.
