Hey All! Another excellent Aurora song, with a message that hits close to home, and as she described it, it is in fact a very happy song.

Red doesn't have to mean blood. She's blooming with beauty. She rid herself of the weight (scissors) that was telling her to cut off her emotions (well in general but for the sake of the video I'll just say it's aurora). She blossomed with that freedom and finally was able to lay down in peace. The red is just the beautiful red flowers that were already flowing. And others have mention it's a heart. I love your reactions, just pointing that out because I love aurora so much!

Hey friend. If you look at the flowers at the end, it's not blood. The flowers form the shape of a human heart. The song remains positive until the end. The heart stands for love and emotions and she now bathes in it. 😉 And for the live version, Silja's great backround voice must also be emphasized. Unfortunately, she is no longer there. This year's tour was/is without her and she will be greatly missed, because Aurora also has no female replacement.

“As they say here in England…” I believe the quote is grabbed from an interview she did in the UK, and she often uses country-specific terms and sayings when doing press/interviews around the world. Great reaction, thank you!

It's like this the symbolism of the red flowers hits to be free of emotion not holding it inside let them out and the roots around the flowers is spread the message to everyone

She’s connected to her emotions … the rose petals. The petals themselves spreading out and connecting to the world.

I think the scisors it's like when we try not no cry, sometimes we start but we try not to and then we stop, and when she dropped the scisors she accepted that she can cry and no need to cut it, just let it out

When she started running in the video, I got goosebumps right before you said you got chills. It happens a lot to me with Eivor and Aurora’s music because of their unique voice qualities, I think. I wonder if she ended the video with her in the pool of rose petals that resembled blood as kind of a tap on the shoulder, saying, “look how happy you could be if you let your feelings out and get rid of the negativity, vs the alternative?” Just a different look at it. Really enjoyed this one!

It’s a good idea you’ve had of following the studio version of Aurora’s songs with a live version. She nearly always alters the live versions and just about every one of them seems to elevate the song to a higher plane. It’s almost like the studio version is just the first draft of a project.

The last shot of the MV: for me it show her (message) healing / stopping the wound from bleading...

Really nice reaction! I recommend as next reactions the music video for I Went Too Far and the live performance at the Honda Stage as well as the music video for Daydreamer and the live performance at HAIK.

Aurora is simply endlessly fascinating and enchanting. Her perspective of the world and her way with words are amazing. Aurora wrote this after being shocked by reading about male suicide statistics. Who else could take a difficult and alarming topic and turn it into an empowering anthem? She is such an astounding artist. An Aurora song is one of the best lectures you can get about what is important in life.

Nice analyse of song lyrics :). Great reaction. I also like video for this songs with symbolism of cutting "tears" with scissors = not expressing emotions, which can led to bad things and then she just throw away these scissors and let herself to cry etc.

Great reaction, thanks, and I agree with you about the confusing message at the end of the MV, all the more that, if you noticed, she has "glassy eyes" just before the aerial shot, as if she was dead. Strangely enough, I did not see many people (if any) talking about this. But a great song anyway :)

Great reaction, thank you. To me the final shot in the music video looks like a bleeding heart symbolizing the sadness she is experiencing. But I agree it is a negative image compared to her releasing the scissors and running, and compared to the lyrics "and the feeling of it makes me smile". If anyone else has a different interpretation please let me know.

I don't know why that thing said England, she has never lived there. Must be a misprint. I do love this song. And Silja's singing in the background is amazing. I miss her. Thanks Mike for doing another Aurora. Great song. Last scene is meant to look like a heart, not blood, so I don't think it's negative.

And yes last shot also does not fit exactly. I mean when she stop cutting with scissors it was understandable as they were flowers (something beautiful). But last shot even even if is beautiful it has mixed message (like someone killed, not moving etc). I mean last shot is a little confusing but rest fits great to message.

It is interesting that some people see a heart… because what I see is blood and the female anatomy of the reproductive system. I have tried to locate anything on the internet from her to suggest that was her intent, but could not find anything

what i really really dislike on all her studio versions is her modified voice. why does she do this? completely unneccesary, in my opinion. i usuall do not listen to her records. i bought them, of course, to support the artist, but i always prefer her live performances, they are so much better. next reaction please susanne sundfor, when. my favourite song of her

Hello my friend! I see what you mean about the amount of production on studio recordings. Vocals and instruments get run through so many filters in the studio to 'refine' the sound, and it doesn't always make things better. Thanks for the comment! Also, were you saying to check out "When the Lord?" I have reacted to this song. This is the song I mentioned in the beginning of this reaction video before I began playing the music video, as a reaction video I have done in which I masked my emotions

“When” is a song from her album The Silicone Veil. I assume that’s the one. Personally I don’t think Aurora goes overboard with production, there’s a few great videos on how fun and inventive her songs are, production wise. But, personal preferences and all. ❤️

@@Yeedeedhello! i know that you reacted to " when the lord", you followed my reccomendation and it was great that you did it! "when" is a whole different song about a toxic relationship. her vocal skills are incredible in this one, sad and mesmerizing but without being pathetic. with the sound filters you explained exactly what i meant! by the way, you have a really thoughtfull way to approach to a song, you get into the story behind, do research. i highly appreciate this!
