Aurora is such a special artist.....and this is one of the most haunting and moving and emotional song I ever heard in my 70 years in this Blue Planet..............So powerful, I heard this version back in 2017, and I've heard it so many times and it still feels like the first time. Aurora is unique

Thank you. I've seen soo many reactions to her and this song and its so validating when so many say the same things. Especially when what you think is bordering on being within a mystical realm. Like the fact that she transports herself to where the song is and then comes back after. Its such a wonderful thing to see. I met her once and I almost couldn't speak when she turned around towards me, so all I managed to say was two very short sentences. But from those few words, she managed to pull everything I wanted to convey to her regardless. It solidified my impression of her as an empath.

Out of curiosity, what would _you_ say is THE best example of a performance where she loses herself and fully enters that inner creative world, that flow state, where she _becomes_ the song? For me, it's a tie between IoaDK @ HAIK, It Happened Quiet @ The Current, and All is Soft Inside at KEXP Iceland. In the HAIK one...watch her just before she sings the line _"is this the breath..."_ towards the very end of the song. She does this melismatic free-form vocal thing...and then just before singing that line, this full-body shiver seems to wash over her, she clenches her teeth, and breathes in real deep while shaking. It almost looks like a huge dose of dopamine and serotonin hit her brain right at that moment. Like the full breadth and depth of the song(which she had BECOME) fully hit the core of who she is...and it was almost too much to physically contain. The other performances I mentioned have similar moments...where you can physically see these subtle ticks that hint at whatever deep emotional pool she's swimming in inside her own mind. It's so cool and inspiring to see an artist 100% lose themselves in their art like that. Most people are too self-conscious to let that happen.

Hello 😄I'd agree with your choices, though I'd like to add Murder Song and Runaway at the Nobel concert too 😄 But THE best one? Hmm.. That would be like saying which song I like best, which is almost impossible 😄

Total agree on you on this. I have seen a lot of performance over the years and i have never seen a person go back and forth to universe like that. It's so beautiful and at the same time a bit scary. Followed her for seven years now and i am thrilled to continue. The ending vocalization in this and all of her child.. performances is otherworthly beautiful. Sorry about my english.

Thank you. A sublime performance that is always fresh. I can remember the first time that I listened to this Nidarosdomen concert ... with tears of joy/sorrow ... but, really just full body welling of emotions. The only very slightest of critiques that I have is that the producer didn't show Silja (band's backing female vocalist) for a moment during the beginning of the third verse ("When the human strokes your skin ..."). Also, lets acknowledge the gorgeous piano playing by her good friend Askjell. I love the clip of the woman at the side of the pond calling out - ethereal. Fairy ... I think so. You've filled me again with hope that there are reviewers of worth out there. You indeed said something. Thanks, again!

Agreed. This is why her performances are so intense. With a live audience and a more upbeat song I have seen her "in2 her audience, emotionally. Last year I was luck enough to have about 10 minutes of her time. What struck me was that she is a real observer. She noticed things I had walked past hundreds of times. When I spoke she was listening, really listening, in a way most people do not. Also her general knowledge!

I think the resolved final note was to accommodate the orchestration. When she ends by herself, the note is slightly uncomfortable but pure. With the accompaniment sitting on the final resolved note, it would be dissonant.

I believe the mass shooting at the youth camp in Norway that killed 77 children, at least one of which Aurora knew personally, has profoundly impacted Aurora's whole generation in Norway in many ways. The little boy in the grass: Only the rare soul like Aurora can turn such a tragedy into some of the most beautiful art Ive ever heard. Through the eyes of a child is hauntingly sad and beautiful and is informed by that event too. also Lucky performed at this same concert is about suicide, depression, survivors guilt, letting go and moving on, which she wrote at 9 years old!! It happened quiet is about an emotionally abusive relationship. Aurora has this genius and magical ability to turn past trauma into music that heals herself and the whole world from their own personal traumas, imho of course

Sub conscious parts. I see them. My friends and family don't. She's my favorite performer. I'm 61. Glad I stumbled upon her 9 months ago.

This was an enjoyable and interesting 11 minutes....thanks! Watching Aurora reaction videos is my -guilty- pleasure way to unwind after a long day at work. But tbh...it can get a bit tiring, cuz it's the SAME take over and over. Just lots of _"woah...dude, wow...her voice. i mean, that's crazy, she's just...woah."_ Like, sure, I agree, but *_why_* am I watching some random dude who isn't verbally eloquent or insightful just rattle off the 3 superlatives they know? This on the other hand, was actually enjoyable, and as interesting as a reaction/analysis video can reasonably be. It's always cool when someone is able to explicitly put _your own_ private thoughts into _their own_ words...letting you realize you're actually _not_ alone in thinking/feeling the very specific idiosyncratic things swirling in your own head. So thanks for that! ^_^

Not unafraid. Watch Once Aurora. She had to overcome ALOT to mature as an artist. She's an introvert with synesthesia, so every sense is overwhelming to her. She had panic attacks, and they canceled the last leg of her first tour to protect her.
