It’s funny how the “election was stolen” theory seem to always be discarded by liberals. Yet they completely dismiss how the powers that be claimed “fake news” as to the laptop incident with Hunter and the evidence that Joe Biden was using his political influence for personal gain. By definition THIS is election interference at its finest. Point blank. Can one liberal stand up and state how F’d up this is? Just one.
6:36 Definitely those are not Chilaquiles that you know because you don't know real Mexican Chilaquiles. Eat food at Taco Bell is the worst reference for Mexican food. Doña Angela (the name of the lady) is a sweet grandma who uses the most important ingredient (love).
All traditional dances, especially couple dances, are in one way or another, expressions of patriarchy. All performers by virtue of taking the stage make an object of themselves, and that's fine. The modern aesthetic that privileges art that strives for that ineffable "authenticity of the self," is just as ideologically laden by the principles of Individualism. Traditional dances may allow for some exceptional performers to improvise but the overarching principle is uniformity. For centuries, the peoples of the Caucasus have had a reputation of being beautiful. Since the middle ages, a rich literary and artistic tradition from western European countries affirmed the view that Georgians and Circassians, men and women, were the most beautiful of all people, a view that later led late 18th c. German scholars Christoff Meiners and Johann Friedrich Blumenbach to promote the racist assumption that all "white" people are "Caucasian." So prevalent was their reputation for beauty that for centuries thrived an extensive slave trade of Circassian women. What i find fascinating about this dance is its many contradictions: the exuberant flamboyance of the men compared to the temperance of the women. The fast and punctuated pace of the music and the languid fluidity of the women whose only body parts at work are their arms really. The steps are kept to a minimalist short walk, the torso is almost always standing tall and stiff, gaze downcast and never engaging, leaving all expression to the arms. The men on the other hand are all over the place, seeking to impress not only the women but each other as well.
All of your statements are wrong for wrong, except for what was mentioned by the German scientist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, who proved that the Circassians are the origin of the white Caucasian race, and others also proved the same thing. With your words, you distorted the facts and falsified them, based on the lies of the Turks and some Western writers, but the truth is completely different, and here are some of the facts and evidence: The Circassians had democratic and aristocratic subethnic groups, the aristocratic ones were ruled by princes, their status was higher than that of the majority of the owners of other Caucasian peoples. The Circassians had slaves! and all of them were foreigners who were captured in raids or captured during wars, and there were no slaves from the Circassians themselves! The Circassian (Kabardian) princes even had entire nations in slavery: “The more distant tribes ... were tributaries of the Kabardian princes, and the closest ones, such as the Karachay, Chegems, Khulamts, Bezengievs, were in a state of slavery to them. The degree of dependence of the last four tribes on the Kabardian princes is illustrated by the following custom: if a prince’s slave was appointed a stone at the door of a mountaineer’s sakla or in its arable or mowing place, then this action was quite sufficient to prohibit the owners of the sakla from entering and exiting it, and the owners of plowing and mowing from using them.” Caucasian Bulletin. No. 3. 1900 ======================== The Adyghe/Circassians have the richest range of national dances in the Caucasus - from the slowest, sedate, majestic in Kabarda (Eastern Circassia) to the most impetuous, unstoppable and fast in Adygea (Western Circassia). The tempo of Circassian dances reflects the essence and character of this people: the noble and proud princely majesty and speed of movements of the Circassians, their dexterity, prowess, agility, about which so much has been written about them in the past.
Lol, typical American not knowing the history of the region. No one appropriated anything. White race was named Caucasian/Caucasoid because anthropological researches found that Caucasus/West Asia was the place where white race emerged firstly. That's why white race was named so. But your liberal mind can't process this. And you should study more why some Circassians were expelled, not all Ciarcassians. After invasion of Turks some Circassians were islamized. Circassians were a christian nation before becoming muslims. Russians came along and liberated them and their land from Turks. But Turks turned the muslim population against Russians and that was the reason of the war. And that was the reason muslim Ciracassians were exiled and went to Turkey, where they still don't have any ethnic rights. While the Circassian christian population remained in Russian empire and later they gainded their autonomy within USSR and now Russia, where they have the right to keep their ethnic and cultural identity and learn their national language. This doesn't happen though in Turkey where all national minorities are forbidden. Just learn history before making such claims. You misinform people.
What you mention about the origin of the white Caucasian race being the Circassians is true. As for your words regarding the liberation of the Circassians from the Turks, it is all a lie, as evidenced by the fact that the Circassians fought the Turks in many wars. Even in the great war that took place between the Russians and the Circassians, which lasted for 142 years, the Turks deliberately betrayed the Circassians The Circassians had democratic and aristocratic subethnic groups, the aristocratic ones were ruled by princes, their status was higher than that of the majority of the owners of other Caucasian peoples. The Circassians had slaves! and all of them were foreigners who were captured in raids or captured during wars, and there were no slaves from the Circassians themselves! Interesting, unique talent. I love artists who do what they want, not marketing team choices. Billie Eilish wrote a bossa nova song on her last album, very seductive. 'Billy Bossa Nova'. Big Bifi fan here. Thanks again. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h6mnfec7bTc.htmlsi=VjdIvTzqzSTNmKpE
Not unafraid. Watch Once Aurora. She had to overcome ALOT to mature as an artist. She's an introvert with synesthesia, so every sense is overwhelming to her. She had panic attacks, and they canceled the last leg of her first tour to protect her.
Welcome back to music! HOLYSHIT! I have never heard of her before. I am SOO with you - if today’s music takes a turn in this direction… I’m climbing aboard! She reminds me of Julie London and Doris Day. Years ago I stumbled onto a song that had a throwback sound and like you got so excited - researched all their music and found it was a one time deal and none of their music is anything like it and was so bummed. You may have heard the song Koop Island Blues ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ji0xDg6EVvI.html. But never since have I heard anyone come out with anything like this or like her. How unique and refreshing - I can’t wait to hear more
Super funny, but it's this song that has 5 million views, when I was looking at her list of videos and views, she has another version of this song, sped-up because it's funny, that has less views. I'm an extra big fan now.
I believe the mass shooting at the youth camp in Norway that killed 77 children, at least one of which Aurora knew personally, has profoundly impacted Aurora's whole generation in Norway in many ways. The little boy in the grass: Only the rare soul like Aurora can turn such a tragedy into some of the most beautiful art Ive ever heard. Through the eyes of a child is hauntingly sad and beautiful and is informed by that event too. also Lucky performed at this same concert is about suicide, depression, survivors guilt, letting go and moving on, which she wrote at 9 years old!! It happened quiet is about an emotionally abusive relationship. Aurora has this genius and magical ability to turn past trauma into music that heals herself and the whole world from their own personal traumas, imho of course
I couldn't watch past 3 min. I have heard this B.S. name but never had to hear his puny voice or the spew of it. You are right to call this an industry. Thanks for speaking up, OA. (Funny, I see another used the word spew too.)
Buster never really cared for this film - he felt forced by Joseph Schenck to make it. He didn't care much for the story, and he considered the plot to be farce comedy besides, which he felt was all wrong for him. He did the opening sequence in color because he figured the film needed all the help it could get. But it's the chase at the end that everyone remembers from the film. Great analysis!
Agreed. This is why her performances are so intense. With a live audience and a more upbeat song I have seen her "in2 her audience, emotionally. Last year I was luck enough to have about 10 minutes of her time. What struck me was that she is a real observer. She noticed things I had walked past hundreds of times. When I spoke she was listening, really listening, in a way most people do not. Also her general knowledge!
This was an enjoyable and interesting 11 minutes....thanks! Watching Aurora reaction videos is my -guilty- pleasure way to unwind after a long day at work. But tbh...it can get a bit tiring, cuz it's the SAME take over and over. Just lots of _"woah...dude, wow...her voice. i mean, that's crazy, she's just...woah."_ Like, sure, I agree, but *_why_* am I watching some random dude who isn't verbally eloquent or insightful just rattle off the 3 superlatives they know? This on the other hand, was actually enjoyable, and as interesting as a reaction/analysis video can reasonably be. It's always cool when someone is able to explicitly put _your own_ private thoughts into _their own_ words...letting you realize you're actually _not_ alone in thinking/feeling the very specific idiosyncratic things swirling in your own head. So thanks for that! ^_^
Thanks. I personally avoid most social media except youtube, and all I watch are Eilish, Aurora, and Christine and the Queens music reactions... and others. Jeez this wringers would explode if they saw Christine and the Queens (solo artist born as Eloise, named her music after drag queens, transitioned to being an out lesbian named Chris, then to a male identity named Redcar.) Wonderful, searching soul and talent to boot. Thanks again OA. You soothe me everytime!
I think the resolved final note was to accommodate the orchestration. When she ends by herself, the note is slightly uncomfortable but pure. With the accompaniment sitting on the final resolved note, it would be dissonant.
I'm on your wild gambit from emusk, Russian poopagoonda and internet idiots to the real world 'drealm' of AURORA in a cathedral, her Queendom come! Thanks again. Missed your Mindful ASMR voice.
Probably written back when a friend at a group meeting threw herself into the nearby ocean. She's had some horrible tragedy in her youth. Another friend was killed in a car crash around the same time. Then, a close male friend was killed in the Utoya massacre of 2011. There are also songs from those incidents: 'Under Stars', 'Winter Bird' and 'Little Boy In The Grass'. Please have a listen to the concert opener from this show: 'Black Water Lilies'.
Both of your reviews are welcome to me, the artistic story with the management system and the delivery of her songwriting/performance. Just a little background that you may not be aware of - O. Martin was with her from her first foray into the 'pop music business'. He also is a prime element in her early song production, along with Magnus Skylstad.
Your analysis is incredible. I knew that there had to be other thoughtful reaction commenters out there. The Vocalist and The Charismatic Voice have been joined in my appreciation of Aurora as an artist by yourself. Plus, I have been immersed in your other reviews and even a cooking class here and there. What a treasure trove!!
So glad to be 'introduced' to an artist new to me. Thank you. Had to add to this comment: 'Four Tequilas Down' is difficult to watch/listen to. Certainly the line "Who the hell am I". What a deeply raw and precise artistic take on critiquing your own motives.
Thank you. A sublime performance that is always fresh. I can remember the first time that I listened to this Nidarosdomen concert ... with tears of joy/sorrow ... but, really just full body welling of emotions. The only very slightest of critiques that I have is that the producer didn't show Silja (band's backing female vocalist) for a moment during the beginning of the third verse ("When the human strokes your skin ..."). Also, lets acknowledge the gorgeous piano playing by her good friend Askjell. I love the clip of the woman at the side of the pond calling out - ethereal. Fairy ... I think so. You've filled me again with hope that there are reviewers of worth out there. You indeed said something. Thanks, again!
Aurora is such a special artist.....and this is one of the most haunting and moving and emotional song I ever heard in my 70 years in this Blue Planet..............So powerful, I heard this version back in 2017, and I've heard it so many times and it still feels like the first time. Aurora is unique
Total agree on you on this. I have seen a lot of performance over the years and i have never seen a person go back and forth to universe like that. It's so beautiful and at the same time a bit scary. Followed her for seven years now and i am thrilled to continue. The ending vocalization in this and all of her child.. performances is otherworthly beautiful. Sorry about my english.
Thank you. I've seen soo many reactions to her and this song and its so validating when so many say the same things. Especially when what you think is bordering on being within a mystical realm. Like the fact that she transports herself to where the song is and then comes back after. Its such a wonderful thing to see. I met her once and I almost couldn't speak when she turned around towards me, so all I managed to say was two very short sentences. But from those few words, she managed to pull everything I wanted to convey to her regardless. It solidified my impression of her as an empath.
Out of curiosity, what would _you_ say is THE best example of a performance where she loses herself and fully enters that inner creative world, that flow state, where she _becomes_ the song? For me, it's a tie between IoaDK @ HAIK, It Happened Quiet @ The Current, and All is Soft Inside at KEXP Iceland. In the HAIK one...watch her just before she sings the line _"is this the breath..."_ towards the very end of the song. She does this melismatic free-form vocal thing...and then just before singing that line, this full-body shiver seems to wash over her, she clenches her teeth, and breathes in real deep while shaking. It almost looks like a huge dose of dopamine and serotonin hit her brain right at that moment. Like the full breadth and depth of the song(which she had BECOME) fully hit the core of who she is...and it was almost too much to physically contain. The other performances I mentioned have similar moments...where you can physically see these subtle ticks that hint at whatever deep emotional pool she's swimming in inside her own mind. It's so cool and inspiring to see an artist 100% lose themselves in their art like that. Most people are too self-conscious to let that happen.
Hello 😄I'd agree with your choices, though I'd like to add Murder Song and Runaway at the Nobel concert too 😄 But THE best one? Hmm.. That would be like saying which song I like best, which is almost impossible 😄
