My first flight with Swissair was in 1960 from Cairo to Zurich on a DC 6B. Then, I flew on a BEA Viscount to London. Later I flew on a brand new Caravelle from London to Zurich. Great memories!

Schöner Film. Weckt Erinnerungen! Mein Vater war Ende der 50iger und in den 60igern geschäftlich viel mit dem Flugzeug unterwegs. Er hat also die Zeit des Übergangs von den Propellermaschinen zu den Jets miterlebt. Was das Video selber betrifft: Aaaachtung, Schwyzerdütsch!!!😊🛩✈

I was about a hundred feet below* Swissair DC-7 "HB-IBM"* as it was landing at Ringway Airport, near Manchester, England, some time in 1962. It was the only Swiss aircraft I ever saw "in the metal" instead of on film. * (on a footpath that was on the runway boundary, at a time before the Airport expanded greatly to sweep away such dangerous anomalies) * the airliner glimpsed in the film-clip is fellow Swissair DC-7 "HB-IBL".
