Trucks at work around Port Adelaide and Gillman, including a Kenworth K104 and Mack Titan hauling oversize windmill section loads, some tough-sounding Kenworth bulk haulage trucks and logging trucks, lumpy Western Star 4864 with a tautliner trailer, earthmoving dump trucks and prime movers with tippers, grain and container road trains, a Kalari Kenworth side-tipper road train, some drop deck and flatbed metal haulage, and an 8x4 Kenworth T359 prime mover.

I love those doubles! Especially the dumps, reminds me of the gravel trains back home in Michigan! The only difference is our dolly isn't stretched out that far from the lead trailer. Overall I love the Aussie trucks!!!! I just wish we could get that K220 built for America.

Thanks, yep plenty more to come! Riverlea is a good spot, being the last traffic lights out of Adelaide for some nice take off and exhaust braking footage.

I counted 46 tires on that first truck. I'm moving to Australia and selling tires. How many trailers can they legally pull? How many tires on the longest vehicle? They make American trucks look like beginners.

This is actually a relatively short road train in a suburban area, about 4 hours north of Adelaide you can get triple road trains with 3 full-length trailers, further in the outback 4 trailers, and on some private mining roads, Kenworths with 5 full-length trailers, one of which has another engine to help with the massive weight of the load.

@@AustralianTruckAction Thanks for the quick reply. I calculated 4 trailers with 24 tires each for 96, one trailer (the one connected to the first trailer) with 20 tires, two tractors with 10 tires each forva total of 136 tires. Not sure how the second trailer is hooked up. That's impressive. What engines do these tractors use? How do the drivers coordinate their driving actions? Sorry for so many questions. My dad worked in an iron ore mine and they ran doubles, but only tandem wheels with duals and a dolly with two axels, for a total of 34 tires. I think that's right.
