Volk actually wrestled as a kid and teenager and used it as workouts in his rugby days. I was convinced Islam would be too much. Now that I'm looking into it Volk looks strong dude lol I'm actually curious in this match up AND apparently he was more of a wrestler in his early ifc fights so I'm going to rewatch those fights to see how he wrestles! I'm also curious and looking for any early footage of him wrestling. Either way I'm actually excited for this fight!
@@phantom_mist1726 Yeah I know it was a joke. I genuinely believe Volkanovski can beat everybody at 155 except Islam and Fiziev. We saw Oliveira (who has the lowest tdd rate) stopping Islam’s takedown’s in the second round and keep it on the feet, if Volk had that success against Islam he would definitely win this fight or at least win some rounds. I’m really worried about this fight especially with Volkanovski fighting in his hometown.
@blak tobor Nah, Volk is in his absolute prime right now. He outclassed Max and Zombie that he made them look as if they never fought in their entire lives. He fights like he's whittling your life and speed away and you don't even realize it. He hits incredibly accurately and somehow can maintain or even improve that accuracy as rounds go on while piling more and more damage. The only way I see Islam winning this is if he outstrikes volk and rocks him for a takedown and a submission. If he can't rock him, he cannot slow him down, if he cannot slow him down, he isn't ever getting taken down.
You do know Islam Makhachev hates you right? You do realize he’s picking a fight with a fighter a weight class down right? He should be calling out edwards or usman. NOT volk. Thats like saying Khamzat would destroy Islam Yeah probably he’s a whole weight class up and even then they’re both big for their division Its kinda weird seeing you cheer on the favorite like this. Makes me judge your character a little. Go in love. Islam calling out volk and saying “where is short guy” is like jon jones calling out anderson silva or anderson calling out gsp or Francis ngannou calling out glover texiera or Jiri Its honestly messed up and shows what type of sociopaths they are. But hey, casuals will still support him as long as he wins, without any regard for how he sandbags.

Volkanovski is the one who forced it, he wants to be a double champ and in his hometown. He literally traveled from Australia to Abu Dhabi on short notice and made weight just to make sure that nobody else takes the title shot before him. Second factor is the UFC as Dana said before UFC 280 that Volkanovski is next. Islam said after the Oliveira fight that he doesn’t pick his opponent and willing to fight Beneil in Vegas, March. I don’t understand why don’t you want this super fight? Champ vs Champ, P4P #1 vs P4P #2 (first time ever), Longest win streak 12 vs second longest win streak 11 and it happening in Australia makes it more intriguing. It’s sociopathic behavior to for hating on two champions who are chasing greatness.
