In Central America, we call the cabbage salad a curtido and we eat it with almost everything! Pupusas, tacos, fried bananas and refried beans, etc. You can also add some jalapeños for a bit of kick or eat it with a tomato sauce on top 😋

I have to say Zeta genuinely wasn’t an unfair critic at all. She rated very highly and wasn’t super super critical. The only problem was that her own salad didn’t have a dressing yet she needed it with others. A bit counterintuitive lol but it wasn’t crazy and she wasn’t rude. Also Amelia was a joy to watch. I loved how she called the salads pretty.

Surely you guys don’t think she’s that dumb. The other salads weren’t moist so she thought they needed sauce. Whereas the cheese and pumpkin in hers both factor into the moistness of her salad, which essentially makes a sauce.

I love a good cabbage salad. A good amount of pepper and solid acid & oil dressing. It’s one of my grandmothers’ most popular side dishes. We have it with chicken schnitzel and at any special occasion

Zeta is correct about the cabbage salad being perfect as a side for a lot of things. Im Romanian and grew up eating it with a lot of things. The tanginess of it helps especially if you're having oily and fatty meat.

I made Zetas salad and I think I have the explanation behind the no sauce. So the pumpkin is warm still when you throw it in the salad, and the goats cheese melts a bit, and all the arugula gets coated. It’s DELICIOUS.

Switch out the almonds for pine nuts and the rocket for baby spinach, roast some chopped up red onion at the same time as the pumpkin and toss with a little bit of 'greek dressing' just oil, oregano and lemon juice and no cheese and this is my go-to salad. Although, I am adding some goat's cheese the next time I make mine!

So Zeta is the only one who actually cooks the ingredients, to make an extra effort. Good flavour combo. 👍🎃 For the cabbage salad I'd make the dressing a strong olive oil vinaigrette with some finely chopped fresh green herbs. Like dill. Chives. And parsley. Crushed cumin seeds are also good. (Less flatulens...) 😉 Love from Norway 💖

I think the sauce in Zeta’s salad is the moisture from the pumpkin otherwise if there was another additive of sauce it may overpower or confuse the tastebuds.
