The setting is the front yard of Austin's home. I really enjoy your analysis of songs by Austin & Home Free. You are much more thoughtful about your response than most reactors.
A lot of Austin's videos are filmed around his home, either the front yard like here, or on his deck with that pond in the background, or with a slight turn to one side, a beautiful view of the trees around the house.
Ciao, Ilaria! 😃✨ This song rips me up - every time. It's an illustration of how music can heal the toughest pains that exist. And Austin's interpretation and performance is phenomenal. Thank you for your reaction and analysis - I always appreciate your perspective, and hearing about what you see and feel that makes the performances you cover extra special. And I love hearing you sing (even if it's just quickly as an example of your explanation). 🥰 Have a lovely weekend, my friend! Big hugs!! xo
For a song with a similar feeling of both melancholy (a gentle grief) and hope, you might listen to "Go Rest High on that Mountain". It has a similar sad backstory. The original artist Vince Gill started writing it when his friend, another singer named Keith Whitley, died relatively young of alcoholism. Some of the lyrics in the first verse refer to Keith's songs ("I'm No Stranger to the Rain"). Vince finished the song after his brother died. He recorded it with two world-class bluegrass singers (Patty Loveless and Ricky Scaggs) singing backup. One well known live performance was at the funeral of country music legend George Jones. He has been a mentor to both Vince and Patty and Vince was not able to get through the song. It is a beautiful example of friendship where Patty watches him and when he starts to falter she sings more loudly and carries the song until he can sing again. In addition, Home Free did a beautiful cover of this song . All three of these versions are worth watching. They are all beautiful and touching .
I dream of you all night,I wake up occasionally just to feel that you are not there, that the reality is relentlessly simple and clear,my heart is unprotected in a night like this, naked for suffering,in a dream I talk to you,I approach you,I can't overcome the damn border between as,I wake up and feel immense sadness, this is a long rainy night, like tears dripping this song,I whisper your name Jennifer, but only terrible complete loneliness touches me this night🙏🤗🍀🌹❤️
I love Home Free, but this one isn't my favorite. Eric Clapton can't even be close to being beat on this son. He literally was singing to his son who died from an overdose when Eric was heavy into to the same drugs that killed his son. The guitar also brings a whole other dimension than the piano is this case. Austi has a great voice though regardless.
