Through this poem 'Australia', A.D Hope pays a rich tribute to Australia. He speaks of its natural richness, its vastness, its emptiness, its capability of producing the elitest of mankind. He speaks fo its unique characteristics and its potentialities. He describes how the white settlers rob and suck the energy of the aborigines as a parasite. Though this poem has been written to Australian situation, it fits quite correctly to any contemporary white colonies such as Newzeland, Canada.
