Those expecting some kind of "Airshow demonstration" with loops and rolls musk understand that those are real , active Australian pilots .. not the super trained corporate pilots of main Airshows . They won't do aerobatics.. not their job.

@@BK-uf6qr And you know this how, because of all the reports you read. Simple fact is the Army pilots were scared shitless of such an advanced helicopter after flying in antiquated helicopters for over 3 decades. Blackhawk included…..mike drop…

I have seen Tigers doing loops and rolls and stuff. So this is a relatively boring display.

Australia returned their Tigers and replaced it with AH-6i. The most reliable combat helicopter, a Hughes Helicopter masterpiece

A: No, they haven't returned anything. They're still in service. B: We haven't bought AH-6I (although they govt is looking at **potentially** buying the MH-6 for the SAS). C: We only announced a few months ago that they'll be replaced with 29 AH-64E Guardians sometime before 2030.

These helicopters have been yet another defence procurement disaster for Australia, and the Government has finally decided to withdraw them and replace them with the more reliable Apache. We should have purchased Apaches in the first place.

The Army **wanted** Apaches for the AIR 87 requirement back in 2001, but the Howard government was too cheap and told the ADF to compromise on the Tiger instead. This was around the same time they ordered the SeaSprite, because someone told them they could cram the **ENTIRE** capability of an AP-3C Orion into the SeaSprite. The Libs have always been pretty clueless when it comes to defence acquisitions...
