Hi PJ, Just thought I would add .... In the 1981 20c there are 2 versions on the 4 and 1 of the 3.5 claws. 3.5 claws is a Canada mint. A 4 claw with the SD spaced wider is Llenistrant (Wales) mint and the 4 claw standard from the Canberra mint. Cheers.
A lot of these coins found their way into our lives, that's in New Zealand, I do have a lot of these sitting in a jar, so I will have to check them out, thankyou from Wairoa in New Zealand
damn it, mine was only valued at 12 cents. I figured it was loosing value fast so i sold it for 12 cents, rounded down to 10 cents. got a nice 1985 10 cent piece. i'll hold on to it in case it becomes valuable.
Only a little late to the party here lol. But the 20c coins that are issued for the ANZAC memorial each year with the news paper and Westpac often end up in circulation because after the promotion ends the leftover coins are often Donated to a charity. I still remember back in 2015 our collage helped open about $10k worth of them that had been donated to legacy 😁
We used to have tons of those platypus ones in NZ, the shops would take them too, they were the same size but that has always been a pretty cool coin, didn't realize you lot were still using the same design
Hi, I have just found your Chanel, I love the way you describe your coins with patience and knowledge. I have bags of 20 and 50 cent pieces, where is the safest place to sell them.thank you for your help.chee4s from georgina, in Gympie Queensland.
If you’re going to clean it u suggest steelwool and a blowtorch, then drop it in a vat of acid. Essentially you’re throwing away any value you may of had by cleaning.
Hi PJ, one quick comment mate, I'm learning heaps from your videos, just start collecting but found it frustrating in this video at the end with the row of federation coin how you had some coins laid on top of the others. I found a NSW federation coin that was quite discoloured and hardly recognisable other then what I thought might be a Waratah flower. I had to stop your video a few times to find the Waratah federation 20c in your line up before I could see it but did end up confirming what it was.
Thank you for the info. I've always (mostly) kept interesting coins but never really looked for faults. I will now I think. And I'm definitely going to restart collecting the federation and UN ones.
Whenever im in Australia, i often find there is tons of those commemorative coins circulation all the time. In New Zealand, we dont seem to have anywhere near as many, and now that they made our coins smaller, its even more rare to find such coins.
Good morning. Or good evining. Sir i have that australla. 20 coins. And i have. Olso australla another coin. Good day and good evining there. And god bless too.
PJ I have a great collection of coins of all amounts is there a particular place a can take them to have them checked I live in Melbourne Australia in VIC please let me know
take them to an expert and not a youtuber who thinks he knows everything about coins, i took some coins in that he said were errors and the real expert said they were just your average run of the mill coins and was only worth face value so i have now bought a book from the Australian mint that gives info on every coin that's worth collecting
Hi PJ.. I know you like coin errors mate.. I have found a 2007 20cent that is missing the whole claw next to the SD with a swirl gap that meets back at the hand... hope there might be more in circulation.. Happy hunting😉
Nice find. I would like to see that. I really should setup a facebook page where people can show what they find. I will keep an eye out for that one. Thanks PJ
Thanks for that PJ, your not a silver stacker by any chance are you, the bullion I'm talking? That is a very wise thing to collect going forward aswell I would suggest mate.
Just wondering if anyone has ever found 1983 or 1984 20c in change. RAM site says reasonably high initial mintage but alot (unknown exact quantity) later melted down and never released. The fact the PJ doesn't have any makes me think they are actually very rare. Also RAM says 1988 20c was issued for general circulation but with a low mintage, has anyone found those?
Yes Cud, it stands for Coin Under Developed. It occurs when the die begins to break down and chips. Causes extra metal to fill the chip when the 2 dies come together with the coin in the middle.

I heard that any y2’k and onwards coin with printing error in circulation is even more rare than an old coin with printing error because they started using labor tech to check for errors and any error that hits circulation is rare as f
my grandpa gave me a tin can after he died its full of the old copper coins. just wondering if i can cash these in the bank or be better if i melted the copper down instead.

I have a question. Can you please answer? If you do the math, all 20 cent coins have more than 20 cents worth of copper in them. Can you break down the math for me in case you disagree with what I said?
