Your videos are always concise, to the point and relevant, especially for IMG doctors! It provides those of us still overseas with valuable insights into what we can expect when we finally start working as doctors in Australia. Thank you for that.
This video on Australian doctor salaries and expenses is eye-opening! It's crucial for medical professionals to have a clear understanding of their earning potential and expenses. The detailed breakdown of salaries and typical expenses provides valuable insights for both aspiring and practicing doctors. Thank you for shedding light on this important topic!
Total salary for fy2 /pgy2(before taxes): 7250 AU$ (87,000 AU$ per year) Rent :2500 AU$ (for a couple with 2 kids) Groceries : 900 AU$ Utility bills : 350 AU$ (includes gas, electricity, water, phone, wifi) Medical insurance for 2 : 1000 AU$ (not for PR and citizens. Assuming img as without PR) Medicare Levy 2%: 1750 AU$ Personal grooming, Council tax, Public transport and other miscellaneous charges: 1000 AU$ Income tax on salary: 1550 AU$ (18742 AU$ per year) Total expenses per month: 9050 AU$ Savings per month: 7250(salary)- 9050(total expenses inc tax) = minus 1800 AU$ So this means, a PGY2 doctor on a basic work schedule, and his unemployed wife can save nothing in Australia? (negative savings) UK and Ireland seems better than this..
Temporary residents don’t pay 2% Medicare levy and 7000-7500 is take home post tax salary as I said in the video. I have been a resident medical officer in Australia and SHO the UK and my saving were substantially better than in the UK.
@@EmergencyFocus at 02:39 you mentioned that the national overall average salary for a PGY2 is 87,000 AU$ per year on basic work schedule without overtime. You have also mentiomed it is pretax.
Wait a minute, health insurance should be brought even when you’re working in the healthcare system as a doctor? Isn’t healthcare in aus free or subsidised?
I’m concerned about why i haven’t seen anywhere a mention of PGY-1 only 2-5+. so i'm wondering now do we get paid as we are undertaking the 12 months supervised training and is it counted off residency training time? thank you so much bro for your clear explanations so far…
I want to encourage all medical workers out there, as a surgical nurse i have been loving my profession in nursing and have worked in two countries . In addition to having a good profession it also helped in my strategic investing plans that allowed me to purchase my third home, supporting my retirement goals..
Wow, interesting indeed! Currently I'm in need of investment ideas or tips. Earlier this year I hesitated and failed to take any action until now. However, I'm determined to try something new as I am very open to various investment ideas . I want to be retired in my forties or fifties. I really wish I can achieve what you have achieved and I believe it will happen
It's essential to comprehend the complexities of investing. Having a trustworthy support system, such as a financial adviser, who can advise you is crucial, especially when choosing assets.
Thank you for your advice, it's challenging to find a reliable investment advisor here. Seeing the success you have achieved through investing I would love to have access to your investment advisor.
I operate with (ALEX MARTIN TARLOR) an investment specialist who partners with a licensed wealth management firm. For the record, his experience has been the best for my finance
I googled his name and found his website where I saw his qualifications and testimonials that looked impressive with many positive reviews , I have already reached out to him to discuss my financial goals , thanks you for pointing me to the right direction
As my point of view Australia is the best place to work as doctor then other countties and also not difficult to get license here and have a good life and money also❤I hope i will work as doctor in Australia soon InshAllah❤
I think plab has more jobs at junior level and better short term and Australia is better salary life style and good long term. More IMGs are coming at a junior level
i passed in 2019 & completed 1 year internship in 2020..Then without any single day gap i am working in ICU...now preparing for AMC 1.....is it late for me?
Hi sir, iam Dr.sirisha currently working as a consultant in OBGY in india, but I want to work in aus so what exams do i need to take to practice OBGY in Australia.
Hello sir I’m an orthopaedic surgeon 3years post MS ortho working as consultant in India I want to shift to Australia and work as a specialist, kindly guide me regarding the same. Thanks and Regards
Hi Dr Best to apply to FRACS for speciality recognition and then an interview, the college with assess and advise you of either full or partial recognition of MS. Afterwards you may have to do period of under supervision work. www.amc.org.au/specialist/
@@EmergencyFocus hi sir I wanted to know after the period of working under supervision , will I be giving the FRACS exam in Orthopaedics, and how much is the passing rate in this . Kindly reply so that I can go ahead with this. Thanks and Regards.
I understand that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is hard for me now because I've no ideas of how or where to invest into fully ready in maximum opinion
You need to have a company tax structure and good accountant plus many other things to consider. If 1 million is a sole income as much as 450K will be taxed … 650k post income is still a huge income

Like I said before ,it is the same thing ,30 - 40 years ago , you take the plan exams 300candidates , passing it 11% ,which mean you have to be in that 11 peoples, you are saying salaries ,£80 to £100 ,000 that is when you have done your training for 5 years and another 5 years , working and getting your experience.
Doctor service to human kind is priceless. Lelu jitna chahiye le lo because you are doctor who prescribes medicine. Moh maangi salary pa lo tumhe patient loves you and respect you because you are a catalyst for the sick to get their health back. So your salary is priceless. Without you asking i fix your salary in advance. Such is the importance of a doctor to a sick person. Without you even before asking i pay you lum sum.

I loved your channel before when I'd follow just for the ER content. But then I started thinking about being a physician in Australia, and suddenly it became my dream. When I found your videos talking about it, I was relieved! Thank you very much for your effort. It is a theme that might not appeal to everyone but I'm sure your viewers are very grateful for your effort and content just as I am. Thank you so much! Cheers from Brazil!

Thank you so much for the amazing video, I have been following you for quite a long period of time. I have few queries and I need your advice into it. I have got a junior level trust Grade job offer in the UK and will be joining in the next Month. 1. For the better financial stability, independence and supporting your family which country is the best option, if I opt for a competent pathway after 1 year of training. 2. Would I get my desired speciality in Australia like ophthalmology or cardiology if possible how much duration usually takes comparison to the UK. 3. If it was you in my place what would you do in such a situation because I'm reading posts nowadays regarding NHS system and the inflation over there. Please let me know Thank you Regards
Thank you and that was very helpful. I would like to also know, when an IMG is hired as a level 1 GP, is they payment on a flat rate for 3 months or is it per patient you get payed. Thanks
Hi Dr. Saif, you may check this for personalized assistance suited to your circumstances: www.emergencyfocus.net/booking-calendar/1-1-career-guidance-session
Since I may only vouch for Australia, there are good prospects for working as an ophthalmologist here. You may check out this link for personalized insight: www.emergencyfocus.net/booking-calendar/1-1-specialist-pathway
@@yasirmahmood6052 Good idea to look into Australia. Start with AMC 1 and do at least 12 months of critical care work ED, ICU or Anaesthesia, you will have better chance of securing a job after AMC 1 with these jobs
My age is 44 + and i am fellow (FCPS) in General Medicine from CPSP for last 8 years if i take this exam what are my prospects as IMG to get a job and settle down considering my age factor. The skilled migration category 189 says that you should be below 45 at the time of invitation from au. concerned authority.
Sir i am currently working as SHO in UK, but want to get trained in Trauma and Orthopedics. Which country would you think be easier to get into T&O training, UK or Australia ? And how about GP as a second option would you prefer to do ? Do you prefer to move to Australia straightaway as in like SHO or after being specialised in UK. What would you recommend ? Thank you
