BTC Markets is excited to announce our sponsorship of Australian heptathlete Tori West, supporting her "Path to Paris" as she aims to represent Australia in the 2024 Olympic Games.
Tori, ranked #1 in Oceania and 24th globally, competes in the heptathlon, which includes seven track and field events. Tori competes in the heptathlon, which consists of seven track and field events over two days: 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin, and 800m. Currently ranked #1 in Oceania, she boasts the 8th best heptathlon performance globally this year.
To qualify for the Olympics, Tori must be among the top 24 in the world by June 30th, and she is currently ranked #24. To boost her ranking, she is competing in Germany at the last major competition before the cutoff on June 22nd.

Tori's journey in athletics is truly inspiring. From her early days at the Townsville North Star club to her impressive achievements in boxing, she has now turned her focus to heptathlon competitions. Throughout her career, Tori has demonstrated remarkable tenacity and passion. She has mastered seven track and field disciplines, winning accolades along the way, including the U18 Australian Javelin Champion and the 2020 Australian Champion. "Your support means the world to me. It allows me to focus on my training and competitions, knowing that I have a strong team behind me. The Olympics have always been a dream of mine, and being able to represent Australia on such a prestigious stage is a goal I'm determined to achieve. This partnership is not just about my personal goals, it's about inspiring younger athletes to pursue excellence and never give up. I hope to be a role model for them, showing that with hard work, dedication, and the right support, anything is possible,” said Tori.
Outside of athletics, Tori is also a builder in the web3.0 space and is incredibly passionate about helping athletes tokenise their sports and health data. As an athlete walking the walk herself, she understands the challenges of making a living in an Olympic sport. Tori believes that blockchain technology can open a new economy of value for sports data and health, creating real earning opportunities for athletes. In 2022 and 2023, she received a developer grant from Ripple and has had the opportunity to talk and share about this internationally.
This is our second athlete sponsorship, following our 2022 sponsorship of Australian tennis star Ajla Tomljanović, who was ranked No. 2 in Australia and 45th globally in the WTA Singles Ranking. The sponsorship included the Sydney Tennis Classic and the Australian Open.
