I still don't understand the rationale behind he 35ge cap in regards to 485 TGV. How will that help solve the housing crises? How can it be justified that a 42 year old students finished in June ,can apply for 485 visa and a 36 year old finished in August and cant apply for the Visa. In terms of productivity at work place, how does this relate..This is just to me a huge discrimination to some set of students.its all good.i feel this should have been spelt out from the beginning and that would have been fair enuf.
Hi Conrad and team, great informative video as per usual. Slight typo on the thumbnail, it should spelt be capping not caping. Caping is when you wear a cape like a superhero.
yeah cap the "English courses" and lower tier "education" and humanities stuff don't cap PhDs, and careers in STEM PhD in STEMS will bring you only the best of the best which is a small number by the way you need to cap family reunfication because certain demographics marry 1 "cousin" from their home country and bring here their entire family all of them with values incompatible with a Western country...cap that one!
Hello dear we lodged our visa on 14 June 2023 and in September end we received s56 for pcc and we already submitted...when can we expect the grant? we are currently at war and we have them a letter to prioritize our application so do u think they will take it into consideration ??
Hi @karl, @ailsaustralia Regarding your advice on Deemed date, could you please advise if we can claim all employment experience if we have a non-related degree. Degree: Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical engineering Nominated occupation: Developer programmer ACS result: 6 years deducted, 3 years out of 9 years deemed. Experience: entire 9 years in one company (4 offshore and 5 onsite). Q1. is it possible to claim the deducted 6 years along with the deemed 3 years? it would award me 5+5 additional points. Q2. if yes, can we do it for Victoria?
Thanks for the great content as always. I have one question about 189/190/491: Do I need to present my actual degree for the EOI/Visa application or does the completion letter suffice?
Right, got it! Does a scanned copy of the completion letter suffice for claiming education points, or do I need copies of the degrees (education provider in Austraila)
Hi karl bring to attention the opaqueness of how subsequent 491 visa are being processed lodged in july 2023 still waiting yet those lodged in 2024 are already being processed,,, are CO just seating on files😢😢
Thank you for your weekly update Karl, really appreciate it. Could you please make a video for some options for over 35 years old. Can a master degree student studying in Melbourne can apply for 491 but with different skill? I feel very hopeless because my skill needs registration and visa is expiring early by next year. Thank you, looking forward for any idea.
The 191 processing keep increasing its already reach 7 months now and very slow grants ..3 years living in regional and waiting so long to get permanent residency..
How did they not realise this would result in job loss lmfao. Are they this unaware of how large of an industry Australian intl education is? So out of touch.
Not just out of touch, they are forcing the issue. Labor is losing badly because of the mess so they want to save their face as much as they can, using all the wrong ways.
Hey Karl. When you reckon they’ll bring in the new points test? July 2026? Do you expect qld numbers to go up from 1200 next year? Trying to figure out my best options. Thank you
Yeah its hard to know when but it would seem July 26 but I'm sure they want it in by July 25 for the election year. Unfortunately we will have to wait and see
Hi Karl. Thanks for another informative video. Just checking that MATES INDIA AUSTRALIA MMPA was to be implemented by the MATES visa, starting 1st Nov 2024. Is there any news regarding that, or has it been canned?
Yes 407 visa is the best option but hard for those who do not employers to help. Many people lodge a student visa for a cheap diploma which in the end will be refused then they appeal to the AAT and have FT work right on appeal. If necessary some even go to the Fed court when they get refused at the AAT. This gives people the chance to get registration and skill points they need. Even if you are refused the student visa you will remain on BVA will full work rights and you can still lodge 491 or 190 when you get an invitation without the need to leave Australia. Please book a time to discuss
Yes it will pass. Peter Dutton will not risk his "tough on migration" stand + Liberals have supported this from the beginning. I do personally feel that this will be good for the international students and country. Universities will learn to live within their means.
I see some comments saying the current draconian policies have helped Australia from receiving more non-genuine students based on the recent grant number, with students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and SEA countries receiving the biggest blow on grant cut, while Chinese students are largely unaffected. So it seems that the effect is already showing. As for liberal, I would not be surprised if they shut down the skilled migration program entirely and slash family migration program to unsustainably low numbers in the name of “housing crisis”. They may also put other caps on temporary migration too if they come in power.
