Hello Carl You are superb with information. I am currently on 408 visa with my partner(subsequent). Our visa finishing this august. Now my parter got Coe for tele communication. The complication is we are having a baby on 6th July and didn’t lodge the student visa yet. Any suggestion that if we should apply before 1st July or will it be better after 1st July. Respected Sir, we have applied for Skilled Assessment.. My Wife experience and educations falls under ANZSCO Code: 234517 (MICROBIOLOGIST). But we got negative skilled assessment and reason mentioned was work experience comes under QA/QC for which there is no ANZSCO Code anywhere... Further, I checked under SRGO Infosheet_Microbiologist PDF where its mentioned "Policy regarding work in Quality Assurance/ Quality Control roles" and according to this its written ---> Employment focused on Quality Control or Quality Assurance can be assessed positively under this occupation providing that the role involves specialised. All job duties matches the work experience but still negative. Sir, I am not clear if its QA/QC matches why negative? Can you please assist OR willing to discuss. Thanks.
Guys I am 38 years old just completed my masters and I still don’t have results.. I feel very discriminated… why HongKong and British people have age limit of 50 years… let’s all above 35 make a group and file a case against Australian Government
The fact is that I got my std visa with in just 10 days of lodging my application to AHC....Am I lucky or I get little bit edage over others from department😅...

There's one thing I don't understand about the so called visa hopping. Why is there so much concern about it? I never heard of anyone that enjoys visa hopping at all. The only reason they've done it is that either they couldn't achieve the required english score or because the profession list keeps changing, or even because the immigration rules keep changing. I might be wrong, but I don't believe anyone is happy to be stuck on a student visa, considering how shitty the rules for students are. Happy to be corrected if there's another reason for it
Hi Karl, I submitted my 491 visa application during July 2023. The maximum processing time keeps increasing gradually from 18 months to 2.5 years now. I would like to get your inputs on the possibilities to prioritise my application to get the visa grant faster. Please let me know how to proceed.

I hope that the Minister of Home Affairs notes this meeting to comprehend the inadequacy of this point test system for Australia's future. As an early childhood teacher, I fear I may struggle to secure Permanent Residency under this system. The same concern holds true for nurses, aged care workers, and tradespeople who work in challenging industries and aren't compensated adequately.

Finally, a point test system that makes sense! I sent my EOI 18 months ago, I have been working as a civil engineer in Australia for almost 6 years, I am 29 and have superior English and a master's degree and it "only" gives me 90 points because I studied abroad. This new system would give me 420 points and grant me a direct invitation! It is only fair for a great country like Australia to want young people with great earnings and great English!
Unless you get sick or have children in need of education.Both nursing and teaching are considered vocations with low salaries as a result of which both groups would struggle to get 300 points.

I started working in my occupation straightaway. Have a good job, good salary, great experience and I really thought that I would not have such delays for 190. Still waiting for an invite. So, if we do everything right, we still might be just waiting in the limbo.
Hi Karl, what are the chances for an Electrical Engineer with 65, 70 and 80 points for 189 190 and 491 Visa offshore ? And which visa can get invites easily with lower points ?

My Q) To apply Student visa starting in feb 25 onshore whilst holding sc462(3rd) expiring on 10th November, do i have to leave australia because of 16 weeks of gab bw visas? or the rule of combined student visa for two courses where gap is acceptable if its the end of Aus academic yr also applies on other visas where summer break is a bridge before commencement? Hi Carl, I got 491 visa and married last year. I dropped a visa for my misses as dependent and didn’t hear from immigration can’t even check waiting period on website. Rang home affairs to ask for waiting period they were rude and said you should wait until you hear back from immigration department and there is no waiting period they said. which is very sad and unsure how long we should wait for 😢

So simply with these proposals experience doesn’t matter ? As in you better get a BSc fast , work for a year or two and get the skills assessment done fast ? Because you are going to loose points when you get more experience? Is the end goal to attract young but inexperienced workforce ?

My question is that I am waiting for my 491 visa grant since 13 months now, do you think visa grants will start in july itself or it will still take more time. Since its been 13 months I applied, my medical also got expired, do you think I will get S.56 notice to get my medical done again, If yes when will I get the visa grant after resubmitting my medicals. Sorry for the long message.
Australia offers a B or C class education and markets it like A class. An Australian degree is not worth more than toilet paper in India. The only reason students would spend hundreds of thousands in Australia is if they get some assurance to stay here and recoup their investments. I came to Australia 25 years ago when it was not so difficult. I feel sorry for these individuals getting ripped off by the Australian government.
Thanks Karl for such a great interview. I think there should be a transition for those who chose a graduate or undergraduate program expecting a promised extension period for 485. Many of these students made a life decision facing now a huge pressure on this abrupt change of plans.
The transition period has been asked from multiple sources and by multiple people. So far the only concession happens in research and phd students. With the clock winding down and we are approaching the end of financial year, I am losing hope that there will ever be a transition period for affected people. (I’m not personally affected, but I am losing hope nonetheless)
Thanks for another great video Karl. Seems like immigration has updated there website and not allowing for a transition period. They have updated it saying: “Any applications lodged on or after 1 July 2024 will be assessed under the new requirements.” 😢
Lodged after July 1 being assessed under the new requirements is normal. If there is ever a transitional arrangement it would need to be worded differently to avoid confusion.
sir if they officially remove chef from Core skill pathway will it affect 186DE visa? Or it will not affect it's just my overthinking and my second question will they removed chef from mltssl to StSOL or it is also a wrong information?

We are hoping something good from the petition with regards to age limit for 485 TGR visa for those already enrolled with existing policies. Or else those of us above 35 years of age gonna see our dreams and careers shattered. Thank you always for what you always do.
Hi Karl, some students who are applying 485 before the 1st of july this year are going to get 5 year TR. They were not promised to be given this extended TR because it was introduced last year July. Whereas, I came to this country knowing this that the govt promised me 5 year TR after finishing my course. Even it's extendable for another 2 years because of studying in the regional area. Now, those who were not promised will get 5-7 years TR and those like me who were promised will get Zero. Absolutely Zero. Some people can say that it's unlucky for me but I say it's unfair, it's daylight robbery.
Hi long story short.🖐️🖐️🖐️ I apply for my 457, lost for covid closure did 2 and half year of work after that, one full year (stood down no income no allowed to work) found another 482 completed, applied for PR, made medical check and the business bunkrupt so beside all the time and efforts I paid all the costs for me and the BUSINESSES , plus the migration agent of their choice full paid by ME plus lost of super and all the leave accumulated in both the jobs(I never visited my country since I got here. I just want my pr after have complied 2 full sponsorships what can I do? Law should be approved from people who has experienced sponsorships so they can understand! Thank you for your great videos!!

I've been in Australia for 5 years now and working in Byron Bay for an employer similar to my field Industrial Engineering for 8 months and they want to sponsor me for 491 pathway 1 but because my salary is not 70k they can't. I applied for a 2nd Master degree after finishing my MBA in SCU with the highest GPA and 2 academic excellence certificates but Immigration lawyers advised me to withdraw my student visa application and leave the country in a month so I don't leave with a refusal. I feel like there is no hope other than waiting invitations for my EOIs 189,190 and 491 pathway 2 offshore. I also met with this Australian girl a month ago before I learned these news and now she is so sad that we have to breakup. Would you have any advice for any visa options or way to stay? I'm desperate and devastated:(
So you are waiting for an invitation? Which subclass are you waiting for your invitation? Your story about the 491 is a bit unclear.. Have you tried the 482?
