Correction: Independent Schools ARE partly funded by the Govt, there are various ‘measures’ that determine how much $ they get. Many Independent Schools are Christian faith based; others have specific pedagogies such as Montessori and Steiner. Others may cater to students who find it difficult to fit into a mainstream school; there’s a variety of reasons why Independent schools exist.
My son is autistic... We are living in Dubai.. He is going to mainstream school.. We are planning to move to Australia...i want to know if school system in Australia will facilitate my son in independent or private mainstream inclusive school??
Excellent videos. I am returning back to Australia after 9 and a half years of absence and this time with my wife and 3 children. You have just won yourself a new subscriber.
FYI, all public pre-school/kindergarten in Victoria is now free, just starting this year, for everyone. We just move to Melbourne at November last year and managed to get my child enrolled, which will start at the end of Jan, 3 times a week from 8.30-16.00 🙂
@@krishnamoorthisubburaj749 i dont know what visa that is so i cannot give you the answer. But i applied with a dependent visa means that im not a PR nor citizen of the country.
I just wanted to add some points to help others 😊 Kindergarten (kindy) is typically from age 4 not 3. Reception is from age 5 and year 1 age 6. Kindy is not compulsory but school from age 5 is. Seconday school ( high school) is until year 12 but can be on a different campus, most of the time not. Public school is not free unless you qualify for a school card program, while not free it will be cheaper around $300 to $500 per year
Hi Martina.., Love your channel. But, how did you miss the most important topic? ❤FOODs Please do videos on Australian Foods, eating habits, brunch recipes and places & etc. Love Your Videos 👍
Not used by new migrants as well we have the home schooling, school of the air. The 2 top or expensive private schools cost around 50.000 dollars in 2024 (Geelong grammar $49.720 in Victoria and Kambala Girls in Sydney $49.825 both prices for year 12) as well will be other costs. At the 3:47 point in the video was one of my first shocks in Australia when I went to a bank and thè teller was grabbing the pen like a screw driver (people teach your children to use a pencil, pen or a brush properly)
Secondary school is called high school where I live (in Australia) and it goes from Year 7 to year 12. So I’ve never heard of “senior secondary school” until now lol. Just letting everyone know
Hi, I live in Fiji and am planning to move to Australia to work and stay there. However I am stuck and don't know how to start this process. Any advice will be appreciated.
Hi! I always recommend checking out the Department of Home Affairs website and/or getting in touch with a MARA registered migration agent. I have a video on how to get started with your move to Australia here that may help ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EnIvh8oqGqM.html Cheers!
Schooling is not free unless you qualify for a school card program. Public school is cheaper than private though typically a few hundred dollars a year
Do the children of international students have to pay more in private schools than the children of Australian citizens or PR holders in the same school?
Hi mem I know Australian visa takes a long time ...but.Yesterday I got my 600 Australian tourist visa within two days. This is unbelievable 😅I paid 152 dollars I did not expect that I would get a tourist visa within two days
If I have a Student Visa and my daughter, as my dependent is in secondary school year 9 here in the Philippines. Can I enroll her in a public school in Australia with minimal fees?
Different in each state! Not in NSW. most kids will be 18 at graduation. Queensland many will be 17. My youngest will be nearly 19 as most kids are starting at age 6 or nearly 6 now in NSW if their birthday is in the beginning of the year.
Thank you for this video, I have a question if it’s okay. A answer will be appreciated. Does any one have an idea, If I finished grade 11 in the Philippines and transfer to Australia for grade 12. Do I need to retake grade 11 by any chance? Because of the difference of classes? (If that makes sense.) 😅
If I had Child II wll place the at least in year 11, is very complex to explain why. To get into University and some careers is very competitive and you very high marks and from the right subjects. English is compulsory and the rest of subjects, if you are very good as student you may finish one subject of year 12 in year 10, and two others in year 11 and some other subjects in year 12 (that was the case with out daughter born in Australia)
I am a indian student and I have my tourist visa but I want to enroll the visa to study visa on guardian and right now I am in year 8 in India so tell me what will be the fees in public schools
I worked in 46 different schools over 6 years 5 of these were catholic schools and along with the Montessori school these schools had the worst behaved kids. I was of the impression catholic schools would have installed more discipline, but that is clearly not the case.
State schools are free, private aren't. High school is year 7-12 (most kids stay until year 12 these days). Primary is prep/kindy to year 6! This is the case for the East Coast of Australia. Catholic schools are exy come on seriously lol!!
