G'day Adriana. I have a dozens of friends and relatives living in Australia. By watching this video for more than three times and jotting down every single phrase, I'm sure I'll be able to show off my Aussie slang to them one day! :) And a million thanks to Adriana for putting so much effort to make this video works. Blimey, you beauty, Adriana! Keep it up your great work. You're the best ! ☺👍👍👍💖
Hey andriana, I’m an indian and I really like to travel Australia someday though never went there. And with your videos it’s becoming easy for me to know the lifestyles, slangs, etc over there 😇😇😇
I'm from China. This amazing video could help me to understand more of Aussie. Very useful. I will try to speak these slangy words to my Aussie friends next time 🤣Thank you Adriana🎓👍love Australia
This video is bloody useful. I don't use slangs when speaking in English, because my pronunciation is not very good. I'd feel embarrassed if I say something and they don't understand.
OMG please upload more videos like this! I just subscribed. RU-vidrs who upload about Aussie English contents is soooo freakin rare. It's hard to find them. and I'm so glad I found this video. This helps me a lot at learnig Aussie English! Cheers mate. I love your videos. Keep it up!
@@EnglishwithAdriana Thanks Adriana your so kind! What about the slangs you always use when you speaking Aussie English in your daily life? oh and the usage of Aussie accents depend on the states of Australia? and if you don't mind, I want to know about Australian cultures as well, and many more! ♡
I want to learn more.Bloody word is common used on television here in Australia.I heard it like bloody beautiful, then I asked my partner what is the meaning.Thank you for this tuturial.
I remember there was an uproar in the Australian community in the USA in 1984. I was there on a business trip. The expression stems from a 1984 television advertisement created by the Australian Tourism Commission for audiences in the United States. The ad starred Paul Hogan he said: ‘I’ll slip an extra shrimp on the barbie for you’: meaning Australians eat prawns but for you it's shrimp.
Yes, yes, yes! I didn't want to go into this too much in this video, but I did add in this phrase to see if anyone would pick it up! Thanks so much for sharing this with us and for being here Sheila :)
The word mate can have several meanings depending on how it’s pronounced. When pronounced short and sharp it does mean friend. When the ‘a’ is drawn out it means that your starting to get on my nerves. When there’s a very strong emphasis on the ‘t’ it’s a threat that things are about to get violent.
Some of these words is similar in Brazil. A cold one... refers to beer. Uma gelada (means a super cold beer) Or we can use " A blond"... means a blond beer... super super cold beer.
Verbale yes we are very similar in certain areas and you guys have the best comdiedens we have a good lot but I am addicted to micheal McIntyre and Jimmy carr and there are a few more cheers LoL
I think that term is wide spread. In Canada we also use "cold one" as in "lets grab a cold one" Everyone would know clearly what you are referring to here. Interesting video, thank you it will help me understand 60 minutes australia lol one word that threw me right off was "cuddle", cuddle here is a more intimate version of "hugging " and i was perturbed initially why it was ok to "cuddle" with children ...its interesting the terms different countries adopt even when we are speaking the same Language
Woops, I think your spell checker got in the way of your definition of a person who bludges on the dole - should be "dole bludger" not "doll bludger". I also love the expression (which may be used in other Englishes) which describes a lazy person, ie a bludger, as "so lazy he wouldn't work in an iron lung", and even better than this, I remember a throw away line from some TV show from the 70s which was "he's so lazy he wouldn't even bludge in an iron lung" - no idea of the show, and I've never heard it since, but I thought it was a bloody hilarious recursive twist on the idea of a bludger.
Yes brother, they speak slowly and clearly so that the learners from different countries can understand the speech given by the English teachers easily and comfortably....
no but when im going to collage im in Australia and stay there a couple day or months or even my birthday after Covid- 19 And im going to study on collage on Australia so im going to be an Australian
Hi Adriana! Here in Brazil, we also use the word cold to refer to a beer. Here in Brazil it's very hot today, that's a perfect day to have a beer 🍻🍻🍻😄😄
"Dole" (unemployment benefits) instead of "doll" (child's playtoy). Very comprehensive list for the video length. I will send to my friends learning English.
Lol 😂 all things I write are a dog’s breakfast in that case mate! I’m shook by the amounts of ones I already knew! And I’m not even neither an Aussie neither a native Anglo-Saxon 😅

There quite a few mistakes in this video. Doll Bludger is not correct it is dole (unemployment benefits) Lots of other minor mistakes but overall pretty good.
