Im in South London and I keep tarantula in my living room, ive seen these spider's in our communal garden, ill be capturing a couple for my collection, 🕷💯🤷

I've been following the species and its distribution in the UK for a while now and the earliest record I have is back in Sept 2019. The specimen was found in an industrial estate in Washington. My theory regards the vector for the NE populations is car part importation via Nissen Manufacturing plant in Sunderland.

Just caught two of these in the Bay Area there good spiders and kill things way bigger than them, there webs are strong as hell to I didn’t expect there webs to be so sticky

Really enjoyed this. Just out of curiosity, if Britain has a climate similar to New Zealand, what are the risks of Lactrodectus Latino establishing here? I know L. tredecimguttatus has made its way from Turkey to Croatia & Italy where it’s become established.

If it’s already present in Germany, one day in the future it will cross the borders and will arrive in France, Belgium etc... Now when the bigger ones that travel frm South America in bananas, a small like this can easily go unnoticed. You got a new immigrant. 😂
