Ferrus's death has always bothered me. Really feels like GW just wanted to kill a primary for shock value and just decided "Eh Ferrus isn't very popular so bye bye"

​@@thewaterguy17 HE was first to die before there was any chance for any primarch to die before any of em had any chance to become popular or unpopular. And his death makes perfect sense when you actually think about the a bit. Ferrus was a real hardass who grew on a planet where hard-assing was cultural norm and loyalty was incredibly important. HE was also a primarch and becasue of that personality we was detached (or solitary) even compared to most of his brothers, he really only had one friend. Now that friend betrayed him. And their father. And everything they fought for and everything Ferrus stood for. And to make it worse he stood there and dared to think Ferrus would join him in this treachery. Yeah I have no idea why he'd loose his cool... and realized all loyalist legions are were sandwiched between traitors on both sides so (which was the whole point the Dropside Massacre) he'd decided to charge in and take the bastard with him. Yes there is deliberate irony that he was the one who pushed forward the most before the "reinforcements" came because his doctrine was about dispassionate methodical advancement. But it's not like he had a ton of choice or being more cautious would make any difference because old wisdom shared amongst scholars is that 8 is bigger number then 3. Saying shit like that just make me wonder if people actually read any lore about it. Also I'd take death in a foolhardy charge over the over contrived nonsense that saved Vulcan.

But I always loved their lore and attitude, lots of parallels with the Blood Angels but a totally different way of coping with the deaths of their Primarchs.

Potentially, though I wonder if a smart nurgle lord might be able to spin the nukes into their favor. Sure, you just eradicated the plague he was trying to spread, but you also just released a "plague" of your own in the nuclear radiation. People growing sick from exposure will be looking for an out, and nurgle can provide that out. So on the one hand it solves the imminent problem of warp plague zombies (assuming of course that warp plague doesn't use warp shenanigans, but that is no fun so lets assume it doesn't) but on the other hand you may have opened a new door for nurgle to walk through if you don't immediately turn around and get the fallout under control.

Nurgle could turn radiation into a superpower. Just as planned?

At least in Black Crusade mark of Nurgle makes you immune to Radiation.

Yeah, it's fun having an Iron Hands character that doesn't get killed and is actually somewhat fun.

If I ever do an Iron Hands army for 30k, it'll definitely be Clan Morragul. Or Red Talons if 40k.
