Picked up an Autel MaxiScope MP408 Automotive Oscilloscope! In this video we unbox it and install the software on our Windows 10 PC. Check it out!
Following up on the initial diagnosis and repair that we made to the 2005 Mazda 6 Radiator Cooling Fan Control Module. Using the Autel MP408 scope and OBDWiz to monitor the fan duty cycle, we can confirm that the correct repair was made.

It's been a learning curve for me. Thankfully I do have my dad to bounce issues off of (electronic tech for many many years and auto mechanic prior to that so grew up around both)

I have a autel elite with the mp408 scope and I've been using it for over year and it have been very good but practice is the key to master it .

I have a lot to practice! I think in retrospect that getting something like this vs a picoscope to start out with will be good because it will force you to learn how to use the scope vs the built in tests the Pico has.

ACH Automotive actually this has 90% of what the pico 4425 does. Filtering, custom probes, math channel, much much more. Just like Pico

Just to put my view, my ms908s is very go,but remember 1 scanner will not do all things ,and some do things better than others,but the Autel is priced well for its abilities,and DON,T fire the parts cannon until you prove that part is at fault,POWERS AND GROUNDS.just my view,enjoy the learning curve,it’s fantastic.

If you are learning So am I,I also have the 908 tablet as well,but I’m thinking I’m going to run a laptop on the 408 ,just to make. The scope simpler to follow,understand.good video,well done.

Unfortunately I don't have their tablet yet, but I've found my Surface Pro or my laptop work fairly well with the scope. I still have a lot of learning to do on it.

I’ve heard the leads that come with the Autel are not that good and some techs say to up grade to better leads but don’t say where to purchase them.

How is this scope? I have an Maxisys 906bt on order and am looking at some scopes. How does this compare to the micsig or the carscope viso? I know it's cheaper price wise than the micsig and the carscope viso.

I'm not familiar enough with the two scopes you mentioned. I have gotten more comfortable with the scope, although I do not see the volume of cars that others do so it's not a tool I get to use often. I have found there is waaaaay more information out there on how to use scopes like the PicoScope. The PicoScope I believe has specific settings for testing various things and this does not. I find that good and bad. It forces you to learn the scope. The unit itself has been relatively easy to use. Well built. Software seems a little...buggy? at times but otherwise not bad for the money. If I had the funds I would of picked up a PicoScope.

5 volt USB powers the Autel MaxiScope?

Yes. Standard USB port powers it up. I use it with my Surface.

How is it with a laptop???

It's not too bad. I use it with my Surface Pro, which is a tablet. I'm sure it would work fine on a laptop, but you'd lose the touch screen zoom capabilities.

If your wanting to do critical measurements it’s best to use with a laptop. IMO this a great scope especially for the money. It lacks in some of the software areas: grabbing rulers, creating math channels, and test leads are known for reliability issues. It’s all there just needs refining from Autel. Definitely NOT disappointed with mine. Would’ve been nice to have different color leads and/or to be able to change the color of the traces / channels.

Don’t go for the elite get the Autel IM608 I did some videos on it. I sold my elite and bought the 608 it’s an absolute beast! Check out my FB Page Automotive Scan Tools
