As a Filipino and I see Adobo, HELL YES!! and oh, we DON'T use CHOPSTICKS for that because it's an East Asian Thing... we only use spoon and fork, or sometimes, clean hands to eat sometimes, you can also cook Beef or maybe Chicken, instead of Pork

Agree, Filipinos rarely use chopsticks, and actually rarely use knives at the table; the cutlery of choice for Filipinos are a spoon and a fork -- the fork is for stabbing and for shoveling food onto the spoon, while the spoon does the transport to the mouth, as well as cutting any large food pieces into smaller ones, no joke

idk why spring onions are being normalized overseas on adobo, but I approve.

OMG..that darkness from the Pork Adobo. It reminds me of my childhood days when my lola cook me adobo everytime I visit her monthly. So good, so simple, very delish.

No big deal and not funny at all. You could've commented on the steak adobo which is rather more unusual than the chopsticks used on the pork adobo.

My aunt who moved here from the Philippines would use a pressure cooker to make hers. Using bone in thighs, she would cook it until the bones were actually soft and edible. Btw when doing it with pork, smoke it at 175-200 range for an hour or so before marinating. It takes it to a whole nother level of tongue punching goodness

You did it great and very very authentic. Job well done. Also you can do adobo in whatever meat you have in your hand; beef, pork, chicken, lamb/sheep your choice. Adobo is technically the technique of marination to salt (or soy sauce) and vinegar. There are variations of adobo that doesn't have meat, instead, we use vegetables if meat is not available.

I feel so proud that Guga featured our Pork Adobo in your show. I suggest that it be eaten with a simple salsa made out of fresh tomatoes with onions, seasoned with fish sauce.

About time Guga get baptized by Adobo sauce! By the way, you don't need to apologize for calling our dish a side dish. We're not sensitive when it comes to those things. I mean, we eat leftover dinner food as breakfast? As long as it's Pinoy food, it sure is tasty! It's even funnier you think of that, like either flexing your wealth by making an "ulam" a merienda food, or just flexing your normal blood pressure by eating meat on meat on a full meal. But damn that Pinoy food looks yummy, with that legit soy color. Not pale at all!
