Taken from our trip to New Orleans (from CA to CT), we shot some good footage of some of the sights and sounds of downtown New Orleans (French Quarter) before the hurricane hit.
My uncle went around on his boat picking up people from their rooftops after Katrina. My entire family lost their homes. My great grandparents had 9 feet of water in the house they lived in for 50+ years. The entire neighborhood had to be bulldozed following the storm. My grandmother in the next state over had to be rescued from her home also. Katrina was a mess.
My husband and I did a 19 day road trip in 2006, we decided to skip New Orleans because of a hurricane threat ,in June. I had been there before and loved it. He missed out on it forever !!!!! I wish we would have gone anyway.

i want to visit there so bad. i wish i could of went before and after katrina. it looks very historical. lots of history. im 13 and this is one place i will visit in my life.
